My VRS Estate

Featured Replies

Ok, so after ages looking at cars I finally managed to find a good condition Octavia VRS estate with 89k miles about 6 miles away from me. Has FSH and had it's belt done last year and I got it for £1900, clearly not the cheapest one but not a bad price either!

The white bits of the interior have seen better days so going to shampoo them tomorrow, just thought I'd say hi as I'll most likely be around here asking stupid questions for a while!

Welcome aboard and dont worry bout daft questions had my vrs over 12 months snd im still learning stuff

Sounds like a plan! Going to test Tesco Momentum on the next tank and see if it makes a difference, far too many conflicting opinions in the threads I've seen! Cheers for the welcome

Get used to the conflicts ;)

But overall, this is a very happy everybody gets along kinda owners forum :)

Shell v-power is what you want ;)

Welcome and make sure u got deep pockets as ull be spendung money the more u visit this site

owner of a MK1 1.8T vrs estate.  I'd say the price looks good if the car is unmolested and properly maintained.  These engines can deal with anything you throw at it, AS LONG AS YOU CHANGE THE OIL and filters regularly.  so paying a little more on acquisition might just save you money in the mid to long term

Another owner of a Mk1 vRS Estate, for which I paid a little more than you did for a slightly higher mileage but with a lot of recent work done: timing belt & tensioner, clutch & dual mass flywheel etc

Over 5,000 miles since acqusition (including 2,000 miles through France) and loving it.

YES rise of the wagons keep them coming I say I love a good underdog that no one expects

there's a thread somewhere about wagons, we ought to update with piccies.  Frankly  ;)

Good choice on the wagon! I paid a bit more than you for a 99k. Had to change the water pump and belts, front ARB plus fix a rattle unfortunately since purchase. But other than that just some wee bits to upgrade it. Got a good sized boot and can fairly nip around town. Great cheap wagon!

Add your pics ---> wagon-fest

and the oil pick-up pipe in the sump to help ensure the turbo remains happy
