WWII's Greatest Raids.

Featured Replies

Just watching a documentary on Nat Geo channel called WWII's Greatest Raids..  The reconstructions are awesome, using something akin to Medal Of Honour with an accurate reconstruction of the structures involved..

Being interested in both FPS and WWII - This is the first time I have ever seen this sort of reconstruction used and will definitely be setting a series link.

If you can catch it - well worth it, if not just for the FPS reconstructions.

FPS?

First Person Shooter - like Medal Of Honour..

Sorry - that's me being geeky.

I thought WWII's greatest RAID was the Colossus memory storage unit; the size of an aircraft carrier and consisted of TWO 1KB arrays!!!

I think some of the 3D engines they use in games are pretty much open source. Lots of people using them for novel things.

sounds like one of them

I was thinking though. What a fantastic way to teach history.

Watched a couple of them - the reconstructions were actually pretty good with the 3d engine.

Wish I had seen the rest - sky nevermiss set for them though

Please don't mention it to any teachers.

I've already had requests to let them use Grand Theft Auto and Deadspace for "Teaching purposes".

Strangely they go quiet when I ask them to get their bosses to sign off knowing there is drug taking, sex and dismemberment in the games.
