DTUK CRDt+ box update

Featured Replies

My 2014 Yeti Greenline 1.6tdi was the first to get the new box from DTUK and after a little fine tuning it's transformed the car.

Today was the first chance I've had to put my foot down and see what difference the extra power and torque made.

Well, on a small private road 1st through second to the redline were dealt with quickly, 3rd gear just kept on pulling with no noticeable fade to the redline and 90mph. I ran out of road at this point and had to throw the anchors out!

The car is economical when you want it, but can now really shift when you feel like it, well done DTUK.

  • Well my thoughts that my DTUK box was over fuelling the engine seem to be pretty close to the truth (we will never know for sure as the box has gone back and Andrew stopped corresponding!), with the D

  • 90mph in 3rd..............................really?

90mph in 3rd..............................really?

I'm not in the habit of lying, I'm reporting fact, so yes 90mph at 5500 revs.

Shame the private road wasn't a bit longer, it might have cracked 150 :)

Why don't you come over to Runcorn and sit in the passenger seat, I'd love to meet you in person, or I'd be happy to come to you if you PM your address.

I'm a big enough man to admit when I'm wrong, I've just run the car again, on a slight incline this time and I stand corrected..........

........... It was 90mph at 5000rpm not 5500 as previously posted. More than happy for Mr Brimma to come and have a go :)

Darell do you have the latest 1.6 in the Yeti or the older Engine ? What settings are you running ?

It's the latest 1.6 engine and I'm running the box at 2 +1, it seems to have really settled in on that setting but it took a bit of playing around to find which worked best. That's all made easier with the CRDt+ having face mounted controls which allow you to just pull over, engine running and make a quick alteration.

I think Brimma's Fabia 1.6 is already mapped... he just drives like a grandad so wouldn't know what 5000rpm in 3rd is like... at least that's what all his uber high MPG pictures suggest :D

I've got about 7-8K miles on the new box now with the same engine.

Revving it past 4K rpm is pointless tho as it accelerates quicker in the next gear up.

I wanted to see what is was like running to the redline in each gear, but ran out of road so didn't get chance of another shift up hence the 90mph in third, it was still pulling very well though from 4k to 5.

I thought it was limited to 2500rpm.......or is that only when it's in neutral?

Brimma, has the top speed limiter been removed with the map ?

The Fabia had a speed limiter? I thought that was only on cars which could exceed 155mph.

I wonder if their PD2 tuning box is any good... I've found one going for £120 and I'm thinking of taking a punt on it.

Is that the older unit (fuel sensor only)? If it is they do give more punch, especially on the PD engines but I'd still prefer the newer unit connecting to the boost sensor too.

It gets good reviews

Yeah I've been looking through their site.

They only do one system for the PD engines that just connects to the fuel rail.

I haven't found too much info about it but have just found a rolling road from a PD130 with one on:

Would be intersting to compare this to a CR with a DTUK box on!

The O3 1.6 is definitely limited at 122.

I wasn't being serious......the rev limiter is only there in neutral

I was suggesting I don't go beyond 2500 rpm, just to be clear

Mike, the Yeti's use the older 1.6 engine and not the newer EA288 that you have in your MK3 Octavia

That's what I thought Andy.

Brimma, I realised that but I was being serious about the speed limiter ;-)

The dealership told me that the FL Yeti Greenline had the new engine being fazed in across the Skoda range?

You seriously thought the 1.6 CR TDi had a speed limiter?

Or you seriously thought that I thought the 1.6 CR TDi had a speed limiter?

Mine has a speed limiter at 122

Nope, it still uses the older 1.6tdi Darrell
