wet laps are not fun on ring anymore.  Since they stuck a lot of new tarmac down which seems to be ****e in wet corners such as kallenhard , ex-muhle seem to be too slippery.

Admittedly the wet line is different and there are corners you can go round flat out int he wet that seem defy pghysics, eg the outside of bergwerk in the wet is full of grip, however its right next to the barrier so it takes real balls to try it

I'm back next weekend for 4 days, but won;t be lapping, except on the mountain bike.

what happens on a dry lap with sudden downpour, after foxhole there was a line in the road between wet and dry and experienced driver caught out

I must admit I am having more fun on wet tracks than on dry ones - able to "own" more faster cars in the wet with my vRS LOL

the thing about the ring in the wet is that the slow corners have alot of rubber down, and the fast corners dont..... so the racing line on the slow corners becomes like ICE.... so you need to stay off it, on one of my vids you will see a clio 200 in front of me almost understeer into the barriers, going slowly on the racing line into a slow corner (about 15 mph?) he was going slow enough not to hit, but it was definatley a "moment" ... the faster corners (not having so much rubber down) you can generally just belt round on the line, but it takes serious balls... at 100+mph, one slide or touch of the grass, and you are a passenger to a broken car! I just went carefully.... and felt my way on the steering feel of the car, I went with "slow in, then feel the grip on acceleration out.." mentality ;) was still pretty scary though ...

here is a session i was out on, where a "hire" toyota GT86 went too quick into a corner in traffic, and understeered into the barrier, I believe the excess is £5000 on the hire cars , so was an expensive day for the driver!

dry there too! it rained half way through the day... could have been dry here and wet other places... cant remember when the GT86 crashed...

see the yellow fabia vRS estate support car inthe background? ;)

i'd agree, did a full wet day at Spa last year in the 130i and it was arguably better than the full dry days i did at spa this year for fun.  However Ring is the slipperiest surface you will find as a race track, lots of crap on it,

seriously like ice at some points! lol...

ok, the first part of this lap is interesting, it rains part way through, and there is an immediate accident! :o we made it though fine :) set to "for whom the bell tolls" by metallica ;)

The clio nearly hits the wall at the begining of this clip! :o then it dries a bit..... and when in germany! .. Rammstien!

proper rain

Awesome effort. Great commitment to corner speed and line.

second part of the wet lap... and we have FOG! :o

if you cant see the last vid, they took offence to the fact that I put music on it.... go watch some beheadings, but dont copyright music ffs.... welcome to our twisted world. I got a warning from youtube for posting a vid of my cat eating a sprout.... apparently it was unacceptable content.... I'm on my first warning.... well, here we go.
