Was over at ring again at weekend ( 7th trip of the year) as was finishing off my brother's house purchase there and doing Spa in the civic.  So whilst there seemed rude not to get out on track on a quiet dry monday evening.  So took my Dad out for an easy lap.  All done in full manual using the flappy paddles, did slip on them twice with silly up and down changes, one coming out of adenaur forst.

 

This is a bog standard face lift example, It's no Civic Type R which is why i will be purchasing another one for track work and leaving at my brothers house, but as a Daily driver it's a cracker still, little bit wallowy.  I also can;t see this understeer people keep on about.  Think on my own, and some proper commitment  it would easily do a low 9 but i would rather not smash it up, Civic i'm a lot quicker as i don;t care if it gets smashed.  There were some modded ones there on sunday i saw going round that looked very quick though.  Also shocks people when you come behind them in the little fab as they still don't expect the speed.  In gear performance is pretty awesome.

its the speed warning thingy, set at 80mph which is what i have it on for motorway

Wow, I'd need a break half way around! Those Porsche's certainly come flying past but then you expect them too costing 3 - 4 times more.

If vRSy could post some of his track vids,

you might see that 3-4 times more expensive can get passed as well, and not because they are not trying.

I wanted to go with sharkrider but unfortunately lack of funds did not allow for it. Next year it is a banker though!

As for the understeer, have a go in standard one around a track and then in one with RARB installed. Even shotgunning the difference is massive!

Quite a big moment at that haha.

there's a vid of that from the outside somewhere too ! lol... the drivers following the lead suburu were too focused on his car, and not looking ahead.... the lead suburu was fine, it was the 2 following blindly that struggled thats why I ALWAYS pull over the moment someone gets behing me on the ring

I never drive like that, and i would assume they were not insured either.  I am covered on my road policy currently, but that's the holy grail and i doubt it will last much longer.  I will be registering a civic type R in Germany next year and leave it there so i will be fully covered in TF 100% next year.   

 

a vid i did earlier in the year  highlights the dangers of blind corners and track knowledge showing you when something is bad ahead, ie i had seen brake lights in a place you don't brake for,
