R e. Call

Featured Replies

To-day I had a re-call for my Yeti greenline from Skoda dealer. The salesman thought it was something to do with the power steering but wasn't really sure. Booked in next week. Can anyone give me anymore information please.

So, you've booked your Yeti in for something next week and you don't know what. I'd be asking what it was going in for and exactly what they were going to do. Never heard of a something to do with powers tearing recall BTW.

Thanks. I did but that was all he could tell me. I called in about the white marks on the rear badge which they are doing under the warranty on the same day as the re-call.

VOSA site shows no current recalls for the Yeti.

Only one recorded is from 2011 and was for a possible fuel leak.

It was NOT a safety recall and would therefore have been dealt with by examination by dealers at service.

I would suggest you call the dealer and ask to speak to the Service Manager.

Thanks for that. I will give them a ring tomorrow and get to the bottom of it.

What year is your Greenline?

Febuary 2012

is this another one of those "recalls" that isn't one?

but a "service campaign"? like the fabia dsg oil change?

Seems like it.

As I have said there is nothing current on the VOSA website.

The trouble is that people have now got the word stuck in their mind when in fact a "recall" is really only when there is a definite safety concern and the manufacturer together with VOSA and DVLA formally notify all owners of the matter and they are told to take their cars into the dealers.

I've lost the link that someone posted on here for "recalls". When I put my relevant number into the site it told there was a recall outstanding but no details. When I took my car in to have the badges replaced (whiteworm) they told me that was what the "recall" was so maybe yours is the same. I think when a car is going in the dealer checks the relevant database and is told what SUK agree pay for!

Thanks very much for all your comments. Didn't get chance to ring the dealer to-day but will wait to see what develops next Tuesday.

The re call I had was to do with a possible leaking hydraulic pipe from the power steering. All ok. The dealer had ordered a front badge instead of the rear one. Back Friday to fit the rear one.

Get them to fit the front one anyway, it'll save you having to go back soon!

Yep.Since they have one in stock I will do that. Many thanks.

They may not fit the front one if the existing one is ok, because Skoda UK will not pay them for it. Because the wrong one was supplied, it will have to be returned for them to be refunded its cost. The warranty will only pay them (the dealer) when they return the faulty parts to Skoda HQ. They will quiet happily fit it, as long as you pay them the retail RRP of course.
