14" steel tyres to apus alloys - are they the same?

Featured Replies

We've ordered a Citigo with steel wheels, and bought alloys (rims only) separately (long story).

It just occurred to us that the steels appear to come with 165/70 tyres, as opposed to 175/65s fitted to the alloys as standard.

Not understanding the finer details of wheel dimensions, would we have a problem changing these across?

Presuming the wheels are the same diameter (eg 5.5x16ET42 the critical dimension is the 16) then the tyres will swap no problems.

Yep, they are both 14" rims - we knew that much! It was the finer details that we wanted to check, but considering they are both 5.0Jx14 ET35 I can't see a problem...

Next question:

Do the steel wheel rims use the same wheel bolts as the alloys? Or do I need longer ones?

AND:

How much are a set of steel wheels with nearly new tyres (100 miles) worth?
