MFD reset

Featured Replies

Hello.

I recently bought myself a superb 2.0tdi 4x4 2011.

Driven it for a week or 2 now, and need to find out if this is normal or not:

2 times within the last week, the MFD has lost the information regarding mpg's, driving time.

The clock on the other hand is still correct.

I dont know what has happend, more then that I havent resetted it myself.

I dont know about the 1'st time, but today it was resetted for the 2nd time, and i was running the webasto remote controlled heater before use.

Has that something to do with it being resetted?
Is this normal?

If not, is this something heard of before?

Seems it has not lost power since the clock is still running on time.

Regards

Kim.

The MFD has two memories, one keeps the settings until reset by the driver, the other resets after 2 hours...

Wow, thanks, didnt know that!

This forum is awsome ;)

Guess I'll have to read the manual more carefully.

You will be surprised what you don't know yet. I have had mine for just over two years and was irritated that every time I set the Sat Nav the MFD defaulted to showing the Sat Nav display when what I wanted was to continue seeing the Audio track display. Have recently discovered how easy it is to change back.

Every days a school day!

Thanks to your post and replies, I now realise that the short term info resets after two hours. I didn't find the info in my Tiguan manual, but it's clearly there in the Yeti manual.

Thanks!

Mine has reset itself once on its own.

I was watching it as I had been trying to learn to drive in a more economical way.

Suddenly the long term average (number 2) shot to 200mpg as of course did number 1 average.

I had been coasting down a long hill (in drive) when it happened and the average was increasing as a consequence but have no idea what actually caused it.

Trip computer No 2 automatically resets to zero after 100 hours of driving.
