How long Before.....

Featured Replies

You get the ecu remapped?

Ive ordered my Furby vRS and should be getting it within 6 long weeks. I have big plans for the car~ suspension, wheels, brakes, ICE, etc but how many miles before you get the ECU mapped or chip the car.

Ive heard it doesnt matter, then some people say anywhere between 2k and 10k.

Some advice please....

60k miles or 3 years, whichever is the sooner. You did want to keep your manufacturer's warranty, right? ;)

I thought that they were unable to tell that the ECU had been remapped? ( dont know how true this is?)

I'd rather not loose the warrenty but, if i wasnt bothered, how long? 3 yrs is a long time to wait.

I like that Chris, factual and Harshly honest

What you could do is ask your stealer if they are in contact with any remapping companies, and if you get it mapped thru the stealer then they "may" be willing to honour your warranty.

Other than that, i have heard as long as you have run in the car 1000miles or so then remap should be fine

27 miles- Thats how far it was from the dealer to the Revo man!If your gonna do it some time do it straight away it makes economical sence........I think lol

Personally i can't see the point getting it done immediately!

Surely you want to get used to the standard power and then you can really enjoy the benefit when you spend your

I would say you have at least run it in...so that's 1k already.

Remember your engine...in standard form...will also get better with miles.

IMHO I would say at least 5k miles.

Remaps are detectable...if you are looking you will find it.

Another more basic give away is the butt dyno feel...it will be faster...although you could say you have a good un. ;)

Indeed give it some time, I'd say a few k's atleast.

I had mine done at around 15K-16K so the engine was bed in ok plus that allowed for any issues to arise.

At the end of the day it's down to you. As the saying goes Dont play with it unless you can pay for it or something like that

LOL i like that!

Ok guys,

thanks for your advice. think ive decided to go for the option of 10-16k or the first year just to see if i get any issues.

Was thinking of going to the garage and saying what i planned and asking them if they would honour the warrenty. In return id get all services done there.

you know you scratch my back and all that.

YOU MUST TELL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY. I know its tempting not to BUT dont think about it. As for the warranty. That should be covered by the tuning company. Superchips do

Mine had the remap, hybrid and exhaust by 3,000 miles :)
