What was the prep routine. Am I doing something wrong, is my bottle tainted in some way??

Mine produced the depth of shine shown in the pictures but just did not bead and looks like the protection has failed.

Previously Machine polished the car so want worried about that this time,

Washed with iron x shampoo, then bug and tar then clay mitt followed by another wash off and rinse, dried with towel, sprayed 2 squirts on to a foam applicator worked it in, left for ten minutes and then went over twice with micro fibre cloth
