What could cause overboost fault code

Featured Replies

He I have recently fixed all my boost leaks nut now if I boot my car is goes into limp mode but if I flick the ignition on and off it will be fine. But the eml light will stay on for a certain amount of miles/time then if I put my foot down at low revs it will switch the light off.

I plugged my iobd 2 into the car and it came back with this being stored on the ecu 78414affe497e223059a350d7ce79991.jpg

Sooty, clagged-up VNT mechanism in the turbo, often.

Possible causes for this code are:

  • wiring open circuit
  • wastegate regulating valve

Before you start check all the fuses for engine systems and clear the code and see if it returns.

Are there any other codes?

Good luck.

I reckon it was over boost that caused it. ;)

Where's Slotty gone :P

Or it could have been an over-speeding turbo...
