I changed the brake fluid on my octavia using a ezi-bleed kit & was easy to do,no special tools required. Dealers charge £50 i think for a fluid change,i paid £15 for the easy bleed & £5 for 2 litres of brake fluid so depends how often you intend to use it,ive used mine 3 times now.

Now ordered but £25 now but still cheap as there are 3 cars here so will do all three

I thought the air filter was of the flat rectangular shape, not a cylindrical one?

I assume in the picture is oil and fuel filter. I finally got myself an Ezi-bleed kit recently, after years of just doing it by pipe into jar and second person on the brake pedal method. Very easy to use.

If its only a few pounds extra it's worth doing. I would change the air filter every year personally

Here is a new one compared to one that has done 10k - the official interval is 60k on the Octavia!

Petrol? Diesel? No don't tend to! On a diesel just turn the ignition on and off about 5-10 times allowing the fuel to pump! On a petrol you can do similar or just keep turning it over

That used to be true on PDs, but unfortunately the CRs don't prime their fuel system like this before the engine starts. With a CR you either need to manually fill the filter housing with diesel (or some people pour in a bottle of injector cleaner), or use VCDS or VAS to activate the electric lift pump and prime the system.

Well what a nightmare after servicing the car vw golf , we have just checked it oil level and half of it gone so checked sump plug fine and oil pishing out off the oil filter , we had seen that the thread beginning was damaged first part where is starts to thread into oil container but silly me thought it must be fine so threaded it in and torqued it up to 25 and cleaned up , however it seems that the damage to the thread may be an issue, so removed the oil filter and cleaned up the thread and cleaned the whole thing with brake cleaner removed the o ring and inspected it all fine , replaced it again and because the thread was damaged couldn't really torque it up so tighter it up as tight as possible , topped up the oil and started her up no oil leaks so will order a new cap and replace it This damage was done on last servicing at a main dealer , however missus still insisted we did it ! " should have taken it to the dealers they know what they are doing ! "
