good or bad

Featured Replies

hi has any body got any good or bad points on the rapid spaceback mite have a look after xams or wait for the new fabia to come out

would like the spaceback in red with the baige inside like in the skoda book thanks pete

I have had a Spaceback for 5 months and am, generally, very happy with it.

The plus points for me are that it has a very good boot, albeit a bit smaller than the Rapid Liftback, whilst giving good room for passengers in the back. It also fits in a standard 7-foot garage without having to close the wing mirrors.

I have the 1.2 TSI (86) engine which seems to work well and the fuel consumption figures are in the range 48 - 56. I have done 8000 miles so far and the consumption has improved nicely. On a long run of 100 miles recently I came close to the 60 figure.

I have to drop a gear on steeper hills or long inclines but don't find it a problem.

For me the only negative points are seat comfort, I find I am fidgeting after 20 miles or so, and the dark interior. I previously had a Fabia with the two-tone light grey interior which I liked and the seats were more comfortable.

The car looks smart in the red.

I would suggest you borrow the car for a day and see if the seats are a problem for you.

Very happy with our recent switch to a Spacback (from an uncomfortable Octy III). Standard of kit is pretty good and even better now with the arrival of the SE Tech and SE Sport trim levels.

Mind one or two things that you would expect to be standard on a modern Skoda are missing, such as one touch up for the windows and wipers that don't keep going while waiting in traffic. Oh and a little less poor road surface feedback form the rubber band 17" Dunlop tyres would be nice.

Regard your colour choice, then I believe the red with beige interior combo is no longer available in the Spaceback, as the Elegance trim has been withdrawn in favour of the SE Sport.

The Plumbers correct regarding interior colour. Spacebacks only come with Onyx fabric on the 'S' spec and Onyx or Grey on the SE Tech. The SE Sport comes with a choice of Onyx/Grey Sports seats or Red sports seats. Not sure what any of these look like but apparently ours is coming with the red sports which should go nicely with the red paintwork. There doesn't appear to be any mention of the beige interior in the book. It is annoying when every picture in the brochure says 'models shown is not UK spec'. You never actually know just what it will look like till u collect the car.

Hi,

Had mine for a day so far! and love it. I have the black edition spec and it is decent. The satnav really sets the cabin off if that makes sense? it breaks up the all black and plain interior. I don't find the seats to bad yet, done 2 hours straight drive and found them fine... personal preference and tolerance i suppose. Love the glass roof...

Only issue I have found so far (still very early days) is the amount of noise I'm getting on rough roads at low speeds, it seems to be coming of the plastics from the door moulds etc, need to get some Gummi Pflege apparently this has a good chance of solving it.

I did 11 hours to the north of Scotland recently with only very short breaks and the seats were fine , glad to get out of the car at the end though !!
