Fabia Vrs Superchip

Featured Replies

I have booked my VRS in for a Superchip on Monday afternoon at the local dealer. I have been considering for a while but decided to go for a Superchip, i like the idea of the warranty and also the review from Auto Express the other week. Im hoping it will give the same performance as my old Beeza 160 Cupra TDI...the Auto Express figures suggest they will so i will just wait and see. I managed to get a 10% discount simply by asking and mentioning some VAG forums...i suppose they could do that for anyone that asks though....Anyway i will post a review next week with the power gains etc. Was considering getting another car but when i look and think about the advantages that i have by simply keeping my VRS chipping it and getting new wheels the VRS is a winner everytime. I would have got a Cupra but after the last one which i rejected i dont think so...lookin on cupranet at the mk4 beeza forum suggest that build quality in the Cupra is still very suspect.

Off topic i test drove the Astra 150 CDTI SRI last week...car looks amazing with the 18s on it but the performance let it down..it was quite nippy but when i got back in the VRS the difference was very noticable...Could have been due to having only 50 miles on the clock .

erm what warranty ???

Had my furby vrs done by superchips and i was very happy with the results. The car is now owned by a member called spanner who im glad to say took the car to a rolling road day and got some good results -

175bhp / 300 lb ft

I was quite impressed. Thanks spanner, i always wanted to know what the figs were.

Dont forget to check out Jabba And Revo, some members running 180-200 bhp.

No probs Chris

It has a K&N filter so you should see about the same.

The clutch seems to be the main weak point, only supposed to be rated upto about 300-320 lbft. So just be gentle!

I drove a demo one about a year before so am not sure of the differences between with and without. It will pull from very low and will just want to rev. In the lower gears it will just accelerate, its the gear changes that can be the biggest hinderance;) On the motorways in gear accel is phonomenal even in 6th. Can't quite plant it as actually all 4 wheels need rebalancing and the steering wheel shakes badly.

I'd be very wary of their warranty claims, make sure you read everything in the small print. I can imagine both side could claim its not there responsibilty.

Have you had your vRS chipped yet with superchips. Have you noticed my performance increase, how long did it take them to do and did they put it on the rolling road, How much did it cost you in the end.

I am thinking about getting my vRS chpped at Superchips in Manchester.

You said that you managed to negotiate a discount by mentioning a few forums, do you know which one it was that got you the 10% off.

I had my fabia vrs superchipped at well lane turbo in batley but i suppose any superchip dealer will do the same job. my car before was 131bhp and after was 171bhp that was with just a K&N panel filter, also i had 18" alloys at the time and i am sure that dragged it down a bit. I have since added a cupra air intake and a full milltek exhaust and gone back to 16" alloys. so prob and i would hope its more than 171bhp now.

yeah i had it done today, it took about 20mins to do, i didnt have it put on the rollin road that was extra...i might do soon though......i just mentioned briskoda.net and cupra.net and he give the discount. it was a nice place and he new his stuff the guy who did it...next to my car in the workshop was a 600bhp Cobra the engine was impressive on that !

Anyway the car is defo faster , first and second are the best gears to play in it i think, i have just been out for a drive with my pal and he couldnt stop laughing at how fast it was !! It was well worth havin done . The price was 460 quid, also getting Octy Vrs alloys this week as well so lookin forward at having them on ..

Personally, and this is only IMO I would go for something like Custom Code over a superchip, clutch won't slip but tbh in 20k miles of having mine mapped by Jabba neither has mine, not once.

The reason, about 20 bhp/20 ft of torque more, reliable, very well tested and setup and will run for a long time with no issues. Couple that with a Cupra Intake and a panel filter and you will see 180 bhp which is honestly the max you are likely to see.

Any figures quoted above this aren't true IMO.
