Is this a good routine? (It's too late now!)

Sonax BSD will be on my Christmas list I think. Will help keep the beading topped up throughout winter.

I've just driven 3 miles to pick up the kids from school and it brought a smile to my face watching the water beading off the bonnet.

Looking good Karl so far,

Annoying when you run out of time.

Really like the colour and treat yourself to some Sonax BSD. Simple to use with great results .

Do mine every month or so.

Looking forward to the end result.

Thanks. The end result might be a way off yet!

I still have half a vehicle to polish & wax.

And stone chips to touch up. Although the rear doors will be going to the dealer / SUK for a warranty claim. Hopefully.

Gtechniq permanent trim restorer requires 15-30°C (ideally) and 12 hours to cure before getting wet.

Their glass sealant requires similar temperatures unless you put a heater inside the car to warm the glass.

Then there's the wheels to clean & seal (probably get some Carbon Collective on there once I've had a few scratches and some 'worming' fixed.

I'm on top of the interior, but would like to clean the leather properly and put something on the fabric carpets to stop ingrained dirt or wet soaking in. No idea what yet.

If you ever want any help with the polishing and trying to remove the swirls I've got a set of pads and different polishes up here to use with the DA and am more than happy to come down and help out.

GTechnik T1 (I think its called) is an option, but I use 3M Scotchgard and its been brilliant

I had carpet mats with the car, but with my job changed them to rubber for the winter,,easier to clean.

I've got rubber mats in (and a spare set for sale on here - don't ask).

With the kids and a Birch tree, the seeds and leaves get inside the car at this time of year and it's hard keeping on top of it. Anything that will stop the moisture and the dirt from getting trodden in has got to be a good thing.

Come the Spring time, I may well take you up on that offer. Thank you.

Still doesn't stop it out here, I try to hoover mine weekly and it's always full of dirt. Yeah any time just drop me a PM,

Finished 'polishing' and waxing today. It's been a marathon, but hopefully it'll be easy to keep on top of now.

Just the plastic trim, glass and wheels to go...

Pics please..:)

There are a few further up the thread, but as I've not done the plastic trim yet it still looks a bit 'shabby at the edges'.

I'll try for some new ones later today.

Been dealing the glass with Gtechniq Perfect Glass kit today and am now waiting for it to rain to see how good a job I've made of it.

post-59543-0-18191900-1416332499_thumb.jpg

I've only managed three coats on the front and one on the rear today so still have the side windows and sunroof to go. But at least it's only one coat on each...

One of my pet hates is dirty glass on a car so hopefully this will help and be £30 very well spent.

Wow that's a lot of product for glass Karl. I don't get a long with Gtechniq so I went for ghost rider, you still have to make sure the glass is squeaky clean first but it's so easy to you use compared with Gtechniq.

Although everyone swears by what your using, I just found my wipers juddering all the time. Hope it works for you.

  • Author

Haven't used the wipers yet, but have given them a thorough clean with Car Pro Eraser.

Gtechniq do say that juddering may be experienced initially, but let's hope not for too long otherwise it'll be a wasted £30.

The only thing I'm likely to get close to running out of is the actual sealant (G1). Everything else is there in plenty supply.

Shouldn't have to wait long for the rain Karl.... ;)

Looking back over the application instructions for G4 (Glass Polish), I don't think I used enough of it and wiped with a damp cloth!

Lets see how well it works and how long it lasts...

The Gtechniq stuff I put on my windows had been superb so far. Been on about 6 weeks.
