What's the most obscure thing you've had in your boot?

Featured Replies

Not obscure, but the reason I'm looking at octavias is for the boot space.  My hobby is RC helicopters and planes which are 1.5m in length or more. Then I have to add all the batteries, tools, radio gear, starting equipment, fuel...

Up thread I may have mentioned having a 5 foot tall assembled bookcase in the back of mine seats down.

Gotta love a big boot(ie)

Not in my boot but in my van.

A giant polystyrene easter egg. (big enough to get about 4 people in.)

also

a bucket full of human ovaries sloshing around in some kind of goop. (I was a medical courier for a while).

King size mattress in the old Focus. Once we had forced it in and shut the boot, my wife and I stood still, looked at each other and then admitted we were both waiting for something to ping off!

Years ago some mates from the TA and our kit. The police pulled us for a anti drugs check late at night near Leicester Square and had a fit when the boot was opened :)

My boot contained a wine syphon that had just been used as a petrol syphon to fill my tank, and still had petrol in it.

This caused some interesting difficulty when stopped by the police for a "just routine sir" check.

Only pointing out the new sealant on the newly fitted petrol tank saved me. It also provided a welcome distraction from a more thorough check which would have revealed the non-functioning handbrake and the bald patches on the tyres.

Less than 24 hours after purchase, the girlfriend had this lot in my car:
