Think they liked it

Featured Replies

Took my Vrs Estate, Rallye Green, to hand car wash on Friday. 2 washed it, 3 dried it. Then asked could they have their picture taken with it. 6 posed with it. I think they liked it.

Clearly I do like it and think its the best colour or I wouldn't have bought it.

He means taking it to the car wash. You trust your ride and joy with those butchers

Clearly you don't like it as you took it to the hand car wash...

I have been reliably informed by many that these are the best in the area. It gets pressure washed, snow foamed, light pressure rinse, double dry, all door frames dried. Windows cleaned inside and out, rims spray protected and tyres coated. Looks like new. £5. And I stay dry. Now one round the corner from me is a different story, they specialise in smoking and washing at same time.....

Sorry Neily

Nice routine they have but missed something...

Millions of swirl marks...!! There are plenty of peeps here with great advice on how to clean your pride and joy yourself. If you do it properly once a month it will stay clean for much longer and be easier to clean next time...;)

And without wishing to start the whole argument off again, there are plenty of people who don't have the time or inclination to do it themselves because they'd much rather be doing other things, like spending time with family or whatnot. It doesn't mean they don't like their cars... it means their cars are not the centre of their lives.

Yes, I'd like to be able to have the time to clean my car 'properly' every week / month / whatever, but between ferrying kids to dance lessons, going out cycling, and just about everything else that gets crammed into my life - including working every hour $deity sends at the moment - cleaning my brand new car is actually quite low down my priority list. Think what you will of me for that, but as much as I really like my new car, it's still only a car.

I totally agree with you and understand what you are saying...;)

Everyone has different priorities and rather spend their spare time doing other things...

I was just trying to be helpful and that's all :)

Thanks for support Wiggos. I'd much rather spend time driving it than washing it but, once washed I occasionally put a coat of polish on it so I can inspect it for road damage as I go. Usually Kettle on, polish on, make & drink tea, buff polish to a shine. Very little time wasted.

And anyway someone else will own it in 3 years. A car is not for life, just a moment in time..... Then a nicer one comes out that you like better....

It's certainly not bad value but as you say, someone else will be able to pick up a scratch free bargain in three years time. ;)

What Wiggo said. I don't have the time or the inclination. 10mns down the jet wash does me just fine.
