The thing I usually use under the 'car' option on the Amdunsen is 'driving details' and I use that most days, and afaik, that is what has always come up when I turn it on. Suddenly, over the last few days, it has opened on the 'convenience consumers' page, which is of no interest to me.

 

Any idea why this is happening and how can I stop it ?

Have you turned on your heated rear screen. The system seems to change the view depending on what it thinks you should see.

If you switch it back to the driving details view is it reverting to Convenience Consumers at every start?

Great call Andy mine does this all the time but, the heated rear screen turns itself off so my money is on the heated wing mirrors, these don't turn off and don't illuminate either, kinda under the radar on the consumption stakes.

Yep, either that or an automatic heated front windscreen turning on, or the climate deciding to automatically turn demist on.

The heated wing mirrors do turn off - on the VRS you simply put turn the little knob adjuster to '0'

....... but they don't turn off on a timer like the heated front and rear screens do

Hmmm - It's been necessary to turn the demist on to clear the mirrors recently - I shall pay more attention tomorrow !

Well I'm convinced it is some random stuff, as some days it happens and some days it doesn't. Then again other random things happen - I mainly listen to audiobooks on my Iphone via bluetooth, and occasionally to DAB digital radio, but one day last week it started up in FM radio mode and I never listen to FM radio. And sometimes you can try and find POI's on the Amunsen and it just does nothing, goes back to displaying the map
