Last Generation Gaming

Featured Replies

My gaming seems to have slowed down.

Not sure if it's an age thing having now turned 30, or the fact i'm now married, or the fact i have a tv mounted media pc to watch boxsets and movies but i'm gaming a lot less.

There's still an Xbox 360 under my tv with a Kinect on top.

I still occasionally pick up a controller and plod through the Forza 4 career mode.

I downloaded Sleeping Dogs and Dead Island through Games with Gold and have dripped into both but not been grabbed.

My last purchases were second hand copies of Dead Rising 2 and Call of Duty: BlackOps 2.

Both of which again I have only dipped in to.

I've not really kept up to date with latest titles (such as those on both 360 and One) so don't know what i've missed out on.

Are there Xbox 360 games i should look to get to rekindle my love of gaming?

Any great titles i should have played but might have missed?

Potentially more controversially woudl it be worth getting a PS3 and exploring the back catalogue on there?

Any suggestions of games i should play welcomed

I have a PS3 and PS4 and I do quite a bit of gaming when I have the time.

There are a lot of good games on the PS3 but it depends what you are into... and most of the standout titles are on 360 also!

I have been playing Last of Us on the PS4, this is available on 360 and I highly recommend it if you like a good post zombie apocalypse story.

Depending on your love of Motorsport I recommend Grid Autosport.

Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3 is another belter of a game.

Gran Theft Auto 5 is a good laugh and there is enough things to do to keep me entertained over a year after release.

What is this eggbox you speak of?

I enjoy firing up the PS1 every now and then, for a game of Crash Bandicoot or Duke Nukem when the kids are in bed.

I've just found my original PS1 still in its box! I'm just waiting for a new AV cable to arrive and I'm good to go for a bit of nostalgia gaming.

Crash Bandicoot, Demolition Derby, Ridge racer...... :sun:  :sun: :sun:

Grid Autosport and Forza Horizon 2 are both on my Birthday/Christmas list

GT6 might be a bit redundant after playing all of Forza 4 and the other racing games.

My main drag with Forza at the moment is that I'm just driving round in circles with no real challenge! :(

GTA5 I have and have finished the singlep layer but have no real incentive to go back and "do stuff".

Being a 100%-er never really appealed.

I have fond memories of Ratchet & Clank on the PS2 so was thinking of that, and getting a G-Con and Time Crisis...

or of course i could just crack on a sit down and watch the hundreds of hours of movies and box sets I have instead.

Oh the hard choices one with no real responsibilties and plenty of free time has to make :D

Im only 21 and im experiencing the same things, used to play games on the PC and PS2/3 the moment i got home from school to when i went to bed, 4 years later and i just dont have the motivation. The last game i played alot of was GTA5 but that was no where near as fulfilling as GTA3, Vice City or San An.

I just lost motivation and got bored with the older games and where IMO the market has steered more towards online FPS, strategy games such as the classic Age of Empires (only 1 & 2 were any good. AoE 3 was rubbish) seem to have died out and you dont get many of them being released anymore. So i find myself distancing myself from the PS3/PC gaming.

I've never completed a game 100%, I just play a game until I get bored or something else comes along.

Playing online is a good way to make games last longer or find new ways to enjoy it. Nothing like beating a lobby full of teenagers at a Touring car race :-D

If you like driving games, it's a good time to get a next gen console.

Project Cars looks incredible, with Drive Club and the Crew also looking like good fun.

At 14 I built myself a gaming PC used it flat out for about a year and a half then realised I'd used it too much so it became dull and a work station, never really enjoyed playing on my Xbox so gave it to the brother, now I've got no time for anything like it.

Fixed that for you

...now I've got no time for anything like it, as i'm far too busy posting in every available thread on a certain car forum online.

Fixed that for you

I've just done my paid up ClioSport membership so am posting on there a lot :P

Been getting into forza horizon 2 on 360

Similar to first but not a problem

Thing is I played it on same day on xbox one and was quite surprised how similar the graphics were

Certainly not the huge leap forward I was expecting

I turned 42 yesterday and I still consider myself a gamer.

Playing through GTA 5 again on ps3 at the moment making different choices.

I also play fps, rpg and strategy games on pc quite a lot.

I cant speak for Forza one the Xbox one or 360 as I haven't seen them.

But I can tell you there is a huge leap up in graphic performance to the next gen consoles. I have COD Ghosts on PS4 and the graphic improvement over the PS3 version is huge. its not just graphics and textures but also the frame rate and smoothness of the visuals.
