Surviving in a Yeti

Featured Replies

Well folk, there I was happily cruising up the A303 dual carriageway last month on a Sunday morning when OMG!! as a Ford Orion travelling in the opposite direction had a tyre blow out. She lost control, came over the central barrier and landed upside down in my lane already on fire.

Braked VERY hard but still hit her and all the airbags went off.

The Yeti stayed intact and I was able to climb out, shaken but not hurt.

Went round to the other car and with two other guys pulled the lady out.

Moved down the hill and watched as my Yeti was consumed by the flames.

Just a graze on the inside of my R arm from the airbag plastic cover.

Now off to Plymouth tomorrow to collect a replacement Yeti.

I really do feel that I was in the right car and thankfully survived. :))))))

Blimey, was she alright? Good to see you've gone for a direct replacement

Glad that you are OK Jerry.

Very rare occurrence, fire at a car accident.

The lady was shaken, minor cuts and understandably very wobbly.

I gave her a reassuring hug and said to her that we were both walking and talking and that was good.

She was taken into the amulance when it arrived and didn't see her again.

I might add that the paramedic who was the first of the emergency services was very relieved to be told that there were only two people involved as they had received over 10 999 calls with reports of vehicle gone over into opposite traffic etc and she said she could see the smoke and was expect much much worse.

wow, Glad all involved are OK.

Blimey! Good show on the rescue effort.
