Spoiler Painted - all looking pretty again

Featured Replies

Just had my spoiler repainted/laquered and must admit they have done a great job, and really reasonable.

All looks as good as new again

Will get some uploaded soon

This thread is void without pictures! :D

and a price!

You need to change your aerial now though or you will end up back at square one.

What's the general consensus on the replacement aerial type?

Good job. In terms of a new aerial either bee sting or shark fin

When you say bee sting you mean a shorter aerial as opposed to the stock one?

Or cut a phone screen protector to the shape of the indent part of the spoiler where the aerial channel is. That will stop it rubbing on the spoiler paint work. I'm sure there is a proper skoda part number for that sticker bit though.

Best stuff to use is helicopter tape.

My vRS already has something stuck in the channel for the aerial. Is that for when the boot opens and the damage is caused by the current long aerial?

Yes

Was the spoiler re painted and re lacquered in situ by the way?

Having mine done due to the lacquer peel. The painter is going to just mask it off and do the work with it still attached as neither of us thought it could be taken off easily. I assume it is a messy/unnecessary job to take it off?

Yes it was done in situ as the spoiler is bonded and not easily removed - did a fantastic job though as you can see.

I thought as much

That's fine - the sprayer has already planned to it whilst it is still attached.

It is going for it in two weeks time

I had mine done in situ several months ago - no issues as yet .

As previously said the spoiler is bonded and would require cutting off - damage to both the spoiler and hatch bodywork is most likely - the job then becomes expensive.

Provided you find a decent body shop they should be able to do a good job in situ.

Anyone need one in the Manchester area let me know
