2007 VRS "SE" into 2012 VRS?

Featured Replies

Had my first experience in a MK2 VRS this morning, both the Mrs and myself had a test drive in a 2012 plate car with 20,000 miles on it, test drive was reasonably short so neither of us got to open up the taps but really impressed with the drive in town and out on some B lanes.

If the trade in price had been better I may well have signed there and then but looks like I'll probably see if I can sell the SE privately then source a MK2 with cash in my pocket to deal.

How many folk have gone Mk1 to Mk2?

Cheers

I went MK1 to MK2 and never looked back. I got a very healthy trade in price for my MK1 but this was nearly two years ago now.

I've had Two Fabia MKI Vrs's  and a MKII Fabia Vrs, also had a Octavia MKI Vrs a MKII Vrs a MKII FL Vrs and now a MKIII Vrs. I like em................

I've got a mk1 vrs and a mk2 vrs and I like them both

I ran a mark I vRS for 80k.... I've now had 2 mark II vRS's a 2010 which I ran to 50k, and my 2013 estate, which is on 28k, and which I may well keep, because I've modded to a way I really like.... best car I've ever had :)

I've had a Mk 1 furby vRS and now on my second Mk 2 vRS. It's a good move, you won't be disappointed :-)

Also had both mk1 and 2

Kinda missed the mk1 as (in my case) it was more reliable than both mk2's I've had

Also both my kids swear the mk1 was faster but probably the 'more torque' effect

Definitely the torque effect!

On my test drive with the MK2 (solo test drive ;-) ) i remember booting it and thinking it should have felt faster. But the speedo doesn't lie!

Had both Mk's 1 & 2 miss the 2nd gear of the Mk 1 but love the Dsg of the Mk 2 both great cars [emoji2]

Not had a MK I but love my MK II. We're you thinking of buying it from a main dealer?

No, not a main dealer but a national chain

MK1 has sold privately so now time to find a MK2 I'm happy buying :)

Got my eye on a couple and also a few Monte Carlo's for the moment when head overtakes heart and says stay clear of the twincharger issues

Cheers

Not all the twinchargers are bad I had two fàbia km2 vRS estates one 60 reg that need a new engine but with the new engine was good did 20.000 miles in It. Then had a 11 reg one did 43.000 in that one with know problem at all

They are completely different cars that just happen to share a model name.

I went from a mk1 VRS to a mk2.

Some people like the switch, some dont.

I didn't.  Sold my mk2 VRS after 4 days.

No regrets here in Ebola-stricken Glasgow.

Had my MKI for two years - I've now had the MKII just over three years and plan to keep it till second half of next year. After that I'll be leaving the Skoda brand as nothing suitable (i.e. compact and nippy) for me in the stable.

I gone from two mk1 vrs fabias into a mk2 fabia vrs, I'm not a big lover of the mk2 now I owned one I think I be keeping my eye out for a mk1 se imo a better car but each to there own

I did over 100k in a mk1 vrs that I owned for 9 years, I made some subtly modifications at 30k and that made it really good, so in some areas coming across to the mk2 has been a disappointment and in others its been utterly brilliant. I think for me when I finally get round to sorting the handling and brake feel out on my mk2 it will be better than the mk1 imo, I love the way the mk2 is a lady on the street but a freak in the so to speak with auto to chill and take the misses out for a nice meal and then when by yourself on a quite country road flick the gear stick across for flat out manual action. I've said it before and I say it again, the mk2 vrs deserved a better chassis brake set up from the factory but it has great engine and gearbox combination imo.
