After I start up the engine I get a chime sounding but no warning light to say what it is.

Possibly rear seat belt warning - do you have passengers in the back at the time or things stored on rear seats?

Cold weather?

I had this the other day on my Rapid and there was no warning lights illuminated. It turned out the tailgate wasn't shut properly.

I've had several Bongs and Chimes so far with mine and each time it's been something different and each time making me have a brief panic wondering what's up.

 

- Work bag on the passenger seat setting off the seatbelt sensor (same happens with the rear seats too).

- Improperly closed boot

- Rear door not shut fully

- Temp under 4degrees (maxidot shows a blue snow flake icon)

 

The worst of them is the temp warning, it did it a few weeks ago when I was driving energetically on a sharp bend. I nearly put the car in a ditch it made me jump so much as it's really loud.

have you checked all your warning lights are operational when switching on the ignition, you might have a warning bulb failure
