Is it ok to polish before applying a sealent then?

Perfectly fine, just make sure you use a panel wipe to remove any oils or fillers before applying your sealant. CarPro Eraser or diluted IPA will do the job.

Nice one Mick - looking forward to some pics of the completed detail!

Good choice. The Sonax is a great product. Best water behaviour I've ever seen!

AGSRP is heavy with fillers, a very slight amount of abrasives.......and a slight amount of sealant

TBH.....I would get some 'proper' polish or a cleaner product...like DodoJuice Lime Prime...

...then apply your sealant...no need to degrease then as the Lime Prime will do that for you

Lime prime will leave an oily glaze behind and you will need to wipe down with IPA before applying a sealant. I use it as a finishing polish on soft dark paints as its great for that perfect finish with a lake county finessing pad and it just doesn't dry out even with just a few drops on the pas as its oily.

I should say you may need to wipe down, probably worth doing a test to see if your sealant is compatible with the oils it leaves behind

You could be right Jules

DJ recommend waxing after use, not sealants...So makes sense to wipe down after it, if using sealant as your LSP

Good call

I'm guessing plenty of the less fussy sealants may work over it but for a few mins with some IPA its probably not worth the risk of reducing your coatings lifespan. I do rate it though! Really good stuff, I often add a little to the pad when using polishes that like to powder to get better work times.

Great advice Jules - thanks for posting :)

Your right it is difficult to get more from, the sonax adapted very well it's not the easiest cleaning product I've used but you could tell its quality especially when it came to the black roof.

Used the Sonax today on a new car detail. (Black Edition Octavia).

Wow - awesome work Ben.

Stunning results buddy :)

Very nice work

How do you rate your noodles?..I dont get on with them at all

I like them for the wheels Chris and also the bottom of the sills. I use microfiber madness and lambs wool for the majority of the wash.

Thanks Ste!

No worries Ben. :)

I got a bulk purchase of noodle mitts and use them in the same way you do mate.

They are great in the engine bay too,

for a wash and APC wipe down, etc

Yeah I think they're not bad for the money. I wouldn't mind using them for a full wash if they were the only ones I had available.

Really?

I suppose better than a sponge at least

Yeah I think if you rinse regularly, and use a well lubricated shampoo you will be fine.

Totally agree ;)

If car has been pre cleaned then there isn't a problem.

Splendid looking white motor mr J.
