Just been karting with some work mates at Lydd karting.

It was flipping brilliant never been in a kart before but it's a real rush.

Can't wait to go again

I went for the first time last month and it was great fun!

Indoor or outdoor track? Outdoor is so much better, been at Thruxton on 60mph karts where they have a speed trap on the back straight, got clocked at just over 56mph...

Ah yeah. Been to the indoor one here in Bristol, and one outdoor on a Greek Island. Probably not up to the same standard as Thruxton

I've done both indoor and outdoor (indoor at York and outdoor at Blyton on the Brisky meet.)

I think that a karting based Brisky meet would be a good idea to be honest, a bit of competition  and a get together. Blyton would have been a good place for this with the outdoor track but there wasn't really a focus on the karting aspect.

Currently mulling over a new Kart. Had 3 in my younger years but when the old man couldn't be arsed to do it any more the financial backing quickly went 

 

Got a Kart track about a mile or so from my house down here, so a good few hours out can be done at quick notice plus they've got smaller Karts for the boys, oh and a pub for afterwards   

The track down near Salisbury though indoor (weather does not matter) is supposed to be good, have been intending to go but have not managed it yet. think it is Wessex raceway.

It's an outdoor track. The longest and fastest in the country apparently

Yeah brisky go karting sounds awesome

I'll admit I spun it thrice!! One of my workmates was going properly slow, so I had to do an emergency stop/ spin or I'd crash

You weren't trying hard enough of you didn't

I raced karts for 2 years in my younger days, proper karts with a big Rotax rather than some of these lesser machines with lawnmower engines. Did a road race and the speed trap was showing 90+mph with the quickest guys over a ton! You have to seriously adjust your senses to understand just how fast a kart can change direction and go round corners.

It takes some time to get used to the brakes.

I'm used to the set up on my car, brake hard and late, then turn in.

Tried that in the kart and spun lol

Havnt been karting in years. Sincei was about 14.
