Ever had a car you regret getting rid of?

Featured Replies

Not a car but my '92 Honda CBR900 RRN, otherwise known as a Blade.

It was going to cost a few quid for new shock, forks rebuild etc, etc....

Decided to trade it for a Kawasaki ZX6.

The worst decision ever. Hated it!! only did 1800 miles before I couldn't stand to ride it at all!

I always wonder what I would do if I came across my first new car, a Y plate XR3i in graphite Gray. If I drove it now I would probably feel underwhelmed but.....

My 106 rallye, mk 2 best steering on any car i had, unassisted, or clio 172 cup, ....married 2 kids, dog , = vrs estate now... future?? Rs4 or v10 m5, either in estate.... i hope!

It would have to be my silver 52 plate 3 door Astra G 1.6 SXi. I bought it from the garage with tints front and back before it became illegal to tint forward of the B pillar. Had big plans for tuning and all sorts. Was a fantastic car to drive despite having no air con or cruise control which are pretty much must haves for me now.

Went out one night to buy myself the Robocop trilogy on DVD and came home with a receipt for a new Vectra. The Vectra was a good car. Big comfy cruiser but they may as well have removed the Vauxhall badges and replaced them with "Silentnight" ones as it handled like a big bed.

Biggest regret was getting rid of the Rapid 136 but I had no choice as some old boy wrote it off. Bah. If I had the time and the inclination I'd find myself another. Lowered, group N rally exhaust, braided brake hoses, back panel covered in bevelled holes and matching holed grill. Lowered, bumpers removed and plated over the left over sections. Finished in Opel Atlantis blue. Big bag of sand in the front luggage compartment, fantastic for going up hills in the snow and ice when everyone was stuck at the bottom. The best car I ever owned from 1998 until I got my last Civic in 2010.

So miss my R34 GTR [emoji17][emoji17]

Looked like the one pictured

Plenty I was happy to see the back of, but that's another thread

Probably my 1980 Toyota Celica LT2000 coupe. I sold it for an S13 Silvia that I also miss dearly (thanks for smashing it, BMW lady :( ). Also my S13 240SX convertible (thanks for smashing it, Ford truck lady).

I miss this little critter the most of any car i've sold on. Bought it for the eldest to learn to drive in, she couldn't cope without PAS. I got a good 10k out of it though, went to her boyfriend's little brother who did nowt with it and its still rotting in his garden  :'(  :@

I'd be glad to get shot of the ford cmax I've got at the moment!!!

I used to have a very rare mk 2 vw scirocco gti 1982 but with 1600 before the 1800 unit was superb had loads of extras such as oil cooler twin sqare headlights with washers 5 speed in mars red loved that car

Yep. My last (and 4th) Focus RS mk2. Thought I'd scratched the itch once and for all. Miss having one everyday. Can't bring myself to getting a fifth though, so I'm like a hen with a hot egg waiting for Ford to get their act together for the next one (probably 2016)

This one looked exactly like the magnum, but in toxic yellow, not the mud brown the magnum came in

Still miss this car even though it's been 5years since I sold it

51 plate Octy I 1.8T 4x4 hatch, just hope it's still out there being enjoyed, we had it from new and it was traded in with 42k on the clock at Bickertons in 2009 when we bought SWMBOs 1.8TSI Octy IIFL which we still have and is a peach of an engine but the MkI just had more character, especially in the wet with the 4x4. If the current owner is on here and wants to sell, PM me cos I'd be interested if it's not been ragged since we parted!

My old land rover series 3. It was brilliant, got rid in 2009 in favour of a disco, which was crap in comparison. The series 3 did only do 18mpg though! It would also have doubled in value now though. Boo! And yes I love landys.

Two cars I miss,

My Renault 11 Turbo, was a phase 2 1.4 about 115 BHP then modded to 200 BHP at great expense, not bad for 1989.

Second one was my last Land Rover, Discovery 2 TD5 ES Auto, had some fun off road in that.

My Mk 1 Scirocco GTI on Sachs Sporting suspension, ATS Cups and Janspeed manifold and system, white with red interior. My second car and absolutely loved it.

My bog standard Mk 2 Golf GTI 16v. Absolutely brilliant car but was moving abroad so she had to go.

Me to. Had a S3 109 with side windows, took us all over the country in any weather. Sold it for a Disco which was a bit of a let down and never had the character of the S3.

this,  :'(
