Is it possible to enable passenger mirror dip on reverse on a SE Octavia 3?

 

I have read elsewhere on this forum that you can for the Elegance and vRS, but no definite answer about the SE variant.

VRS is based on SE, so no reason why it can't be done. Do you have a Bolero Infotainment unit?

Is it worth it - no

It only moves about 5deg down which is useless, if you set it so when it's down it's at the correct angle it only moves 5deg back up making it double useless.

Really need the memory function to get it to work correctly, shame as I like it.

True, but 5 degrees is better than nothing

 

You can always enable it and leave the mirror selector at 0 so you have to consciously enable it when you need to.

When its 5deg down can you see the rear wheel/curb?

 

"Memory Function" Assume this is the £800 optional extra. Does this option come with mirrors that dip more than 5 deg? I would have thought that the mirror deflection function would be the same and that the memory would return it to pre-set position if it were moved out of position.

 

Or is it that the mirror can travel enough to see the rear wheel but the VCDS mod does not allow enough further travel?

 

Not even got my car yet so may be talking out of the wrong orifice!

When the passenger mirror is dipped down, i can see the rear of the car better.  For me i run on the motorways a lot of the time, and have the mirrors set high anyway.
