Uprated Anit-roll bars

Featured Replies

Since driving ColinD's Octy I'm convince that I need to get myself some new anti-roll bars. The intention being to reduce roll in corners and improve turn-in response without compromising ride and comfort too much.

A know a few people have the Neuspeed bars fitted, but it's been suggested that Audi S3 ones will fit straight on, be much cheaper and achieve the same effect.

I thought I'd have the bushes changed at the same time, would VRs bushes be the best choice or are they the same as Audi S3 or the Octavia Elegance ones?

Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.

not too sure on the S3 but its been recomended on here to go for an R32 golf front,S3 strut braces fit straight on,i have a lower one on mine,no idea on improvement because its been on there since i bought it.

i have just bought a second hand mk4 golf eibach rear.fitting hopefully soon

Does the 4x4 have the same front suspension as the RS?

I know RS has same front end as a TT and the front ARB is different to other models....mounting points are different. I believe for the RS you have to drop the front sub frame to fit new ARB...apparently not an easy task.

4X4 will have a different rear ARB I guess as it has independant rear suspension.

So perhaps R32 rear ARB will fit.....Neuspeed rear ARB clamps onto rear beam.

S3/R32 front ARB wont fit straight onto a non vRS or 4x4 Octavia, different ARB set up.

if the front is similar set up to earlier VAG then dropping the front subframe is essential,

not that difficult with 2 jacks and an extra pair of hands,me and m0rk of cupra net fame did my cordoba on his drive, nuts and bolts broke so i would reccomend using new.

you don't need to drop it far, infact just enough to slide out the old bar and slide in the new, don't think we even removed the wheels,it slides out backwards,i didn't even get the geometry checked it felt that good when fitted, but thats just a personal opinion, and i could not see if the sub frame would have moved the geometry that much

Re the 4x4, Spent a year trying to sort mine, R32 fits straight onto the front but nothing fitted the rear until Jabba started making one specificaly for the 4x4

As far as the RS goes I have no idea other than to have a calculated guess that something from the VAG range will fit & its a much cheaper way of upgrading the car. My guess is the R32 or S3 front will fit, not sure about the back. Also the R32 came with different dia bars so get the thicker one.

Also do both, I drove around for nearly a year with only the front stiffened & whilst it sat flatter in the corners you def got more understeer

Any idea if the front lower ARB from the S3 fit onto an Octavia Elegance?

Eibach kit is a good option for the non-vRS/4x4. Around

Sad to say... the Eibach and Neuspeed ones cost a bomb over here :(

Whats the deal with rear ARB only then? Seems the front one is more expensive and a lot of hassle for my car. But will the rear ARB only make it a bit lift-off tail happy.

fitting a rear arb will make it more tail happy but as long as it isnt too firm it should be ok.

The shipping would probably cost more than the actual product itself :thumbdwn:
