VCDS - Intelligent light assistant with high beam control

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Has anyone figured out if it is possible to activate the Intelligent light assistant with high beam control if it is not bought as an option at build? Does it use the camera used for lane assist, thats what i seem to remember (maybe wrong)?

Thanks

I have tried that but get the following message! :-(

"Sorry, no coding information is available for this ECU"  ! :-(

Any thoughts?

Run Auto Scan. When I do I get a message saying the doors are unlocked, which I have. Re-run and the same issue!?

Which version of the software are u using, i did  in the other day with the latest beta?

Are you sure the message is not 'you need to unlock the doors'? If they are locked a couple of the modules are unreadable.

Well spotted, this is what it said. The car was unlocked though! :-(

Version 12. something. It has done everything else I asked it to do, including the initial stage switching it to present, it just doesn't recognise the long coding part. :-(

Use the latest beta, it's 14.something. Has a lot more options in the long coding.

My first post in the VCDS sticky says to run the latest beta on MQB platform cars. I say this for a reason, over a year of coding MQB cars and probably getting close to 50 cars by now. It has far better support for the MQB platform and the label files get updated with each beta release, which is more frequently that the releases of the current version.

I have to ask the question if you are running v12 is it a genuine cable or a cheap Chinese keylogger and virus ridden pirated version of the software?

Oh, and you don't need label files to do the long coding :) just change the hex code or the binary manually.

I bought a genuine version relatively recently and version 12.something was the supplied version and the latest non-beta version on the website was 12.something-a-little-more.

I note that when I booted up my laptop tonight, I was prompted to download the latest release version 14.10.0. I'd last fired up the laptop on Thursday night, with no such prompt, so I assume that production version 14.10.0 was only released on Friday or Saturday.

It was released yesterday I think. Supplied version? You don't normally get supplied any version and just download the latest from Ross Tech.

You should be fine with 14.10.0, I have amended the sticky thread advising to use that version as a minimum. The label files in 12 didn't have support for the very latest controllers.

To the OP I know it sounds daft, but you do have the ignition turned on, engine not running and all doors closed when you are making the changes?

Don't take any offence from my question about the cable but I am fed up of questions from people with pirated old versions of VCDS.

I will try and download the latest version and see how that goes.

The nice folk at Marshall's Industrial sent me a CD-ROM with version 12.12.2 on it when I bought my cable.

Frustratingly, having upgraded to 14.10.0 now, it won't communicate with module 9 (and also asks me to make sure the doors are unlocked, which they are). Grrr!

When I installed beta 14, it updated the firmware on my cable for me, has it offered to update the cable for you?

Bizarrely the latest full release 14.10.0 is newer that the latest beta 14.9.0!? Both were made available on 22 Oct though.

They both have the same label files though.

Your new car still in grimsby?

It was on Saturday, could be anywhere today!

Yup, from 1.92 to 1.93, IIRC
