Hi,

Yes really like the car - it's great!

Disappointing about the size of fuel tank and I wish I could've specced the car on order (couldn't wait the 12-16 weeks...) as I would've picked a few more factory options - definitely the winter pack and bi-xenons....

Other than that, I'm very happy with it. Getting low 50's per gallon on short journeys and high 50's/low 60's on a good run - I'm sure that will improve with the more miles I put on it.

Steve :)

+1 for the rearguard protector

have the estate and 2 big dogs. Am a rep,  lots of motorway miles and regularly get over 60 to the gallon, previously had various  range rovers and mercedes but love my Skoda to bits!

Just got mine back today after being at the accident repair centre for almost 3 weeks after some kind person decided to drive into the side of it. Had a 1.4 tsi estate hire car as a replacement vehicle, so it was nice to compare the two as I've always wondered whether I opted for the right model. Suffice to say I did.

Nice car just check the quality, the one I ordered from new has a terrible paint finish, with many areas mostly shut lines where the paint fades and is very noticeable. Would have been a decent car otherwise. Now the car needs dismantling and a big paint repair. Not ideal for a brand new car. So be careful and check yours over as it appears these cars are cheap for a reason. I tried one of the vRS diesels as a courtesy car...horrible thing. Gutless, noisy, bouncy ride, 1970 style maxidot graphics! glad i had the octavia elegance (even with the dreadful paint finish).

V good car, extremely competent providing you end up with one with no (or certainly no major) build issues.

The regular model is a bit dull though; I really do like mine (2.0 Elegance estate) but its not the sort of car id just drive for the sake of it. I do however have a mixed 80 mile round trip to work daily (a good 60 of that on dual carriageway and motorway) and its a great bit of kit for that kind of driving.
