Someone has clipped my offside wing mirror

Featured Replies

Only bought the car on Monday and come home to find someone has clipped the wing mirror on the passenger side.

The black coloured bottom half has come off and gone! The clear lens cover for the indicator has cracked an in half and the other half has gone walkies.

How much am I in for to repair this?

As yet I don't have a Haynes manual for the vehicle and I'm not very familiar with it.

It is a 2011 1.4 TSI Octavia.

Cheers for any help.

I just replaced the bottom bit on my car. A new one was £15 but that was for a pre FL car. Got it from eBay.

Added a photo for clarity.

If anyone knows the part numbers for the damaged lens (Is it available separately?) and the black bottom half, it would be greatly appreciated.

The facelift mirror is quite different to the pre FL.

Left side appears to be 3T0949101 for the FL.

Try skodaparts.com. Usually not too dear for this part.

Thanks for that.

Anyone got any info for the lower plastic part? I'm quite a distance from a dealer so it'll require 2 trips to sort this (once to confirm correct part and again to collect unless it is stock) if I can't do it online.

Whatever you pay just be thankful you aren't in need of a self dimming mirror, the price will make your eyes water!

Hello

I have managed to get the parts listed above. Does anyone have a handy guide on how to fit them? I don't want to cause more damage by fumbling about.

Cheers.

Cheers!

Managed to complete it through reading various threads on here and some YouTube videos. None of them seem to deal with my particular version of wing mirror but the principle was similar.

Gently prise off glass without breaking it. Remove electrical connections and then access the various screws using a Torx-10 screwdriver. Fit replacement mirror indicator, fit replacement lower mirror casing. Refit mirror.

Job done! :D
