Nice New XC70

Featured Replies

As many of you know, I get to drive some intersting cars when I'm working away. My latest ride for the next few days is this very nice Volvo XC70.

Initial impressions are good, it's a well built, comfortable ride with a nice turn of speed and of course, 4 wheel drive.

I'll let you know my thoughts in a few days of this Octavia Scout competitor.

Always fancied an XC70 and am looking at cheapies on ebay for a winter hack.  I've never owned a 4x4, and it's about time I did.

I might get away with a 70, whereas I wouldn't be allowed something Landcruiser-esque.

Is it the camera angle or is this bigger than its predecessor?

Not sure if it's bigger than the last one but my father in law had a regular V70 and this has a fair bit more leg room for passengers in the back.

It's not the most economical, it averaged 40mpg on the run up to Galsgow. Very nice at motorway speed, comfortable and sure footed, country roads around Alton in the pouring rain and it inspired confidence with its grip levels. The engine is refined and handles well for a big car, overall I'm very impressed, it's just a shame about the fuel economy.

40mpg? What engines in that then mate?

I cant reg check this one because its so new its not on the database yet haha.

?

Are you looking at the correct DVLA site?

2400cc Diesel.

£205 VED

or £215.25 on the drip.

40mpg is really good for the size and being a 4x4. I'd love a xc or even just a standard v70 D5
