Maybe a thread would be sensible, started by a regular Briskoda track goer that could have post one regularly updated as people comment track days they are doing.

Kind of a list of track days that are being attended by other Briskoda drivers.

Logically, with a title like this one...

I will change the title to this thread to something else, then we can use this title again.

If a mod can set up, "Calendar of Events" as a sub folder in Track Day section, then could we have sticky threads maybe for each track in the UK/Europe please?

Good idea :)

Ah there we go. Thanks for the clarification :)

Didn't realise they had the 100

Yes, the 100 is used for some Sprint events too.

I'll pop up a video later of it as I'm out now.

I think they use the 100 circuit for drifting sometimes while there is a track day on the 200 circuit.

I wouldn't bother doing the 200 circuit but have done the 300 circuit twice and it's definitely not just all about straight line speed. There are lots of corners of varying speeds and two long straights.

I'd like to go to Cadwell. :D

I'm sure you'll drag me to Cadwell so I'll add that to my list too :)

Done Cadwell twice and wouldn't hesitate to do it again in 2015.  Awesome circuit.

I will be up for some more days next year :)

  • 4 weeks later...

I have booked 21st February at Donington Park GP with bookatrack after my Clio failed to make it to my last booking there.

Saturday track day!

Fast Skoda Fan, not Fast Skoda Driver. ;)

I'm not called Captain Slow for no reason *proud smile*

I enjoy our track days always a lot of fun even if I am a mobile chicane.

Combe for me as usual hopefully without missing it next year. Bedford again would be nice, to be honest if I can make it to one I will come.

I would love to take my Vrs on the track next year. I've never been on any race track before, are there any you guys go too in the Kent area?

Brands Hatch.

Bedford.

Castle Combe isn't all that far either.

Yeah, always a few all over the place.

Get yourself down to one, even if you don't drive first time, meet the people. Everyone is fantastic :)

Post error ignore sorry all.

Yes :) Just need to wait until next week when I get the rota for January on call, but otherwise yes, I wanted to go to the one you went to November but couldn't justify it after Brands.

I'm running two track days on the historic 1.5 mile Aintree Club Circuit in 2015 ....  Saturdays 30th May & 3rd October

Cost will be £119 for car & first driver, 2nd driver sharing a car £30.

We run 10 minute sessions each for novice, intermediate & experienced, (drivers decide which session to book in with due regard to their/their car's ability) plus a 4th session for single seaters. Only 20 bookings accepted per session,

10 minutes doesn't sound long but over the past 15+ years it's proved to be right - any longer and cars & drivers start getting tired and silly things happen.

As the last car in a session returns to the paddock, the next session starts immediately (unless we have to recover a car!). Advice from ARDS instructors included free.

It's a low key, friendly day with around 80% of participants being repeat bookings - people like the way we run the day so keep coming back

Bookings will open about 6 weeks before each event, but they will sell out quickly, novice & intermediate sometimes sell out within 48 hours of bookings going live.

So... advance bookings only, no booking available on the day.

I'm also running 3 Nat B sprints at Aintree - again all very friendly and a great atmosphere : 25th April, 27th June & 5th September.

You'll be out on track every 50 mins, even with 140 competitors in the event. We normally give around 740 starts in the day, irrespective of the number of cars.

If you've never competed before, Aintree is a great place to start. The Caterham academy use our April event for their first competitive event each year because we run a slick event without much hanging about.

And as if that wasn't enough... we also run 2 Speed Hillclimbs at picturesque Barbon Manor in Cumbria, 13th June & 4th July. July is a round of the British Hillclimb Championship.

For more information about all these events, see www.liverpoolmotorclub.com

Even if you don't want to take part, why not come along & see what it's all about? Admission just a fiver at Aintree, and it's £5 at Barbon in June and in July £10.

oh, and my Yeti us course car/safety car at Aintree!

Hope to see you there.

Castle Combe planned in June. Details in the track day section. Limited to ten spots for Briskoda. :)

I fancy a bit of this in 2015, I have signed up for the email so hopefully the Golf will be booked on in May, I am assuming standard track day rules apply and that there is no need for roll cages or MSA log books etc

Hi James

Yes, standard rules apply. It is responsibility of the driver to ensure both vehicle and clothing are fit for purpose. We check are that everyone is wearing a helmet (fastened!) and has arms & legs covered.

We don't formally scrutineer cars, but if one looks as though it shouldn't be out on a race circuit, we reserve the right not to let it out. We certainly don't like oil leaks!

As you'd expect, we do undertake an official noise test on every vehicle immediately before going out for its first session & again if we feel that a car has got noisier during the day or seems excessively loud on drive by. Static test is max 105dBa at 0.5m from the exhaust at 75% max revs. Being reasonable people we rarely have to implement a drive by test as normally a gentle word with the driver will resolve any issues.

You've probably already found it, but there's more detailed info here.

Apart from that - it's all the usual stuff. Hope to see you in May,

John H

Signed up for the mailing to get the booking notification, love to get Sharky to Aintree :)

Of course, unless someone does something really outlandish with the exhaust, a Yeti will sail through any motorsport noise test!

I believe the guys at Bedford told BossFox his Yeti was the quietest car they had ever tested
