1.9 diesel I'm afraid! Your welcome to it anyway haha

It's a 3 door and I'm not a fan of the seats, didn't like my ibiza FR ones much.

So much hate for the diesels!! Booo!

Nothing wrong with a beautifully smooth pd diesel!

It's exactly the same damn car as the VRS in ugly Spanish drag, what were you looking for that's different?

Meeeoow! Subtle as always.

I believe my opening post sums it up pretty well, I'm after such upgrades as the seat sport four pot callipers, the seat sport strut brace and PD160 intake.

My only point was that I can understand a diesel FR, but the Cupra is supposed to be the best SEAT can do.

I do like the 1.9PD, but a Cupra sounds odd to me.

Its a bit odd they didn't leave it to just the 1.8t

It's the quickest PD as stock in the whole VAG range - 160bhp.  But ultimately it is a PD150 in wolfs clothing and differs little from the Fabia vRS really.  Will have slightly better turbo, brakes. and wheels are a bit sexier.

I suppose it's the best 1.9pd they had for that spec, polo gt was 130bhp, fabia Vrs is 130 and ibiza fr is 130

The cupra is pretty much a fabia Vrs with most the upgrades already attached.

I actually wasn't being bitchy, I was expressing surprise since the VRS is so much nicer to look at and almost mechanically identical, I know the Cupra is a bit quicker but most stock BLT VRS's make 150bhp anyway so any difference is negligible.

I think in reality, the brakes are the only serious upgrade part on the Cupra.  By serious, I do mean the biggest difference between vRS stock and Cupra stock. :)

I was suprised to see the smaller solid rear brakes, expected the 256 vented rears.

Will check exhaust and tyres then, that's about it!

Why is he breaking it? Re-styled "V" shaped bonnet?

Not all BLTs made 150bhp, most were 140-ish and you're assuming the PD160 only made 160bhp stock. A PD160 at stage 1 will make 195bhp compared to 175-ish on the PD130. It also has a better intercooler and most of the ancillaries are just a bit better rated than the ones on a PD130.

The one thing the PD160 Cupra had I wish I could have had on my vRS is climate control. Proper fully automatic 'Climatronic' climate control rather than the much poorer 'Climatic' system the vRS has. The Recaro seats are a bit marmite but the 2-seat rear bench will go in to a 5-door car if desired and having tilting fronts wouldn't matter, they'd just be a bit over-specced.

As for the comments about the Cupra being the best SEAT make and therefore why a diesel one, the petrol Cupra only had 180bhp and a relatively limp wrested torque so it doesn't feel as quick as the PD160 (although in reality it's a little bit faster to 60mph).

Not to mention they weigh about 100kg less than the Fabia alternatives lol. Big old heavy 5 door the fabia's haha...

Im curious to know of the 1.8t swapped fabia's what is the weight difference now as I know the PD's are heavy engines. Was thinking about this the other day, surely a it will handle a lot better with a lighter engine up front as well. There is about a 50kg difference between the Cupra Tdi and the Cupra 20VT, might also be down to the 6 speed box as well like.

Also the front brakes on them are a right chew on to change with them being sliding calipers (or something like that I think) and tend to seize up quite a bit, I personally wouldn't have them on my car rather splash out a bit more on LCR brembos. Plenty of them being sold on eBay.

Only other thing I got anyway was the boost pipes just incase, £100 for the seat sport cooler and all pipework.

Was about to say what about the cooler and pipes.

wheels?

Paint, get the paint off it, it's got glitter in it and it's much more expensive than that cheap Czech rubbish they spray all over the VRS.  :D

You people are SUCH pikeys.
