Any goodies from Seat Ibiza Cupra?

Paint, get the paint off it, it's got glitter in it and it's much more expensive than that cheap Czech rubbish they spray all over the VRS. :D

You people are SUCH pikeys.

I'm sure you were young and interested once upon a time :)

I quite enjoy getting parts from scrap yards, always puts a smile on my face to see a top spec car sitting untouched.

I might hit gold one day and find leather.

You're quite right, I once found a Mini 12G295 head in a scrappy on an MG1300, that was pure gold, paid next to nothing for it, also got a 'big wing' sump and a 711M block off a Cortina 1600E, sold them for really strong money.

The Recaro seats are a bit marmite but the 2-seat rear bench will go in to a 5-door car if desired and having tilting fronts wouldn't matter, they'd just be a bit over-specced.

they're not Recaro seats.

Also the front brakes on them are a right chew on to change with them being sliding calipers (or something like that I think) and tend to seize up quite a bit, I personally wouldn't have them on my car rather splash out a bit more on LCR brembos. Plenty of them being sold on eBay.

they're not sliding calipers.

as well as proper climate control, the Cupra also had ESP as standard rather than the ****ty ASR (or whatever) the Fabia came with and an interior that didn't get stained if you looked at it funny.

I don't get how a Cupra being available with both petrol and diesel engines is bad when the mk1 Fabia vRS (the sportiest Fabia) only being available with a (lower powered) diesel engine was a good thing?? as for looks, that's an entirely personal thing and whilst I don't think either are especially good looking I couldn't have a boring a **** looking Fabia

I like the Cupra seats. Got the rears fitted to my car :) werent the Ap brakes an optional extra?

I think seat did a good thing having the option of 2 engine types in the Cupra.

As mentioned the pd160 intake, upper strut brace are worth having.

Oh and the wheels. They are nice :)

Well whatever kind of calipers they are, that's why I said 'I think, they are **** and seize up all the time.

Quick search on SCN says it's the pins that seize so my bad about the sliding caliper thing chief.

Where is this being broken mate?

I used to have an ibiza cupra tdi and it was by far a better car than the fabia. The brakes are a lot better than LCR Brembo's, I've experienced both and would choose a set of ap's over brembo any day.

You've also got things like, bigger turbo, 160 intake, stronger head bolts, bespoke gearbox I believe to the cupra for quick acceleration (low ratio). I'm pretty sure the injectors are better on the cupra as well but dont hold me to it.

I would just say the cupra's never came with the strut brace as standard, so if you're looking at one and it doesnt have it, dont be alarmed. I do believe most did buy them from the dealers though.

Just to give an idea on performance, my cupra tdi mapped made 203bhp and 340 lb.ft torque once it was remapped. The figures etc are all from an independent RR (Evotune Durham) and for a comparision in standard guise on the same rollers it made 167bhp and around 270 lb.ft.

It's being broken at Whitley bay mate

Grab the anti roll bars. Thicker than the fabia by a few mm and a direct replacement.

The cupra is so much better than fabia IMO. And it looks good in yellow lol.

tru dat

They look good in yellow but the paint quality is hideous. Mine was a platinum grey one, I liked the colour but I think the red looks the best, closely followed by black.

what colour is it mate?

Black.

Do you know the offset/ condition of the wheels.

I'm thinking about getting a new set that can clear my brakes without needing spacers

Charlie the cupra wheels will clear your brakes bud.

Plus they look awesome on a Fabia, not that in biased :D

Awesome cheers Josh :)

I'll keep an eye out for some. It was your old Fabia that got me thinking about them :)
