Nissan Micra 1.0 E. It's a purely temporary measure!

It's been a very sad day overall. It didn't hit me until I had to hand over the key. Even now, I'm almost feeling choked up. It's like losing a member of the family.

Take care of it, Patrick!

Bye bye Octy :(

There's a 350bhp Micra out there somewhere modified by a tuning company...try and get that :D

:sadwavey: There, there, try and be brave. :grouphug:

On the plus side, I'll be able to "own" you off the lights now... :P

!

Oh dear.Is that the ugly one or the new even uglier one? ;)

Whats the real new car going to be?

Thank you all for your sympathy. I'll be buying a pipe and a flat cap later. Does anyone have a tartan rug for my parcel shelf?

The car is the old 1998 ugly one. My mum bought the new uglier one, so she sold me her old one.

Rob, any time you wanna go, I'll meet you on Sandbrook retail park for a drag race up the A627(M) :D

The replacement? It depends on finding the right car... I want to build up some suspense, so I'll post some clues when I'm closer to securing a deal ;)

Yep. Got one that somehow keeps being put in mine by various fmaily members....

So if i bring the rug, can i join the drag race too? I reckon that 1.0E might prove quite a challenge.....

At least the old Micra seemed reasonably solid, i've driven the new one several times as a hire car in Ireland and its seems unbelievably placticcy to me :(

Having said that, I do laugh when people say that the Octy doesn't have much room for kids etc - my sister in law only has one car in the family with 2 kids (6 and 4) and they have made do with an old Micra until they upgraded recently to the new Micra

... don't worry about the Octy, im sure you'll find something exciting to replace it soon :D

I had one of those old Micra's as a courtesy car once and it was a surprisingly fun car. You could throw it around it was so light and nimble. It only really dies when you had to carry passengers.

It was quite well built too come to think of it.

I saw you had your Octy on Pistonheads alongside mine...did you sell it via there or elsewhere..would be interested as mine hasnt shown much interest:(

What does that mean??

Rob, Let me guess. An Audi A8 4.2 Quattro, with Nitrous :D

I ended up paying

If you think a 1 litre Micra is slow, try one with a automatic (CVT) gearbox :thumbdwn:

I went from one of them to the Octy. Bit of a change

Dont worry Rob I will. Its a beauty and has been well looked after.

Already had muchos fun :D taking it from Manchester to Newcastle (and back again).

This is the vehicle inspection company I used:

Very friendly and professional

It is.

But you should've gone for the 1.3, Rob... :D

Still, sad to hear you have parted with the Octy - it was already around when I started frequenting Briskoda years ago, but glad to hear it is being kept "in the family".

Patrick, have you kept the Briskoda sticker? :D

Well, the Octy may be gone, but I'm going to be sticking around here. This is one of the nicest car forums on the net, and I'm still a Skoda nut. I may buy another next time around (or even get another Octy vRS if I can't find what I'm looking for!)
