What other seats that are heated?

Featured Replies

So I know of the seats that will go into the Mk1's, my question is.... What seats will go in that are plug and play with the heated connections in the Fabia, mine are heated now and I want rid of the ****ty standard ones to make way for a dark colour or leather seat that aren't a pain in the star to clean, I want a different colour seat without the sacrifice of the warm arse basically haha

you need the usual other VAG seats but hope the previous owner's ticked the heated seat option. I think the connectors are the same accross the board.

If you're feeling DIY mate, and have some time on your hands, you can take the heating elements out of your VRS seats and put them into anything you like, then it doesn't matter what you choose as they'd all be heated :)

It's not difficult to do, just takes a bit of time. It took me about half a day :)

I did, but they're not on this phone, Ill have to find them for you mate. But I doubt you'll need them.

-You separate the back rest from the seat base.

- Unplug the cable between the two that supplies the heating element.

-Then remove the seat base cover, these are held on with metal 'hog rings' I found easiest way was to have some pliers on them and twist to open them up.

- Once all the hog rings are off, remove the seat cover

-You will now see the heating element, part of it is glued, you can just rip this off and it will be ok.

- The base element is now ready to go into another seat

The Backrest element is a little more difficult because the backrest cover is tricky to remove but you don't have to take it entirely off.

- Unclip the seat cover join at the bottom (two long black plastic strips) use some sort or prying tool to help

- Start to 'peel' back the seat cover from the bottom, up.

- Behind the cover there are little hooks that attach to the side of the seat frame that stop it from going any further, unhook these

- Keep peeing back the cover

- the element is held on by the hog rings just above the Vrs logo, remove these and then rip off where the glue was.

- now unscrew the plugs on the bottom of the base ready to put on whatever seats you want to be heated.

You will have to remove the seat base cover of whatever seat you're making heated, but in regards to the upright bsck you only need to partially remove it.

- open the back rest bottom plastic trip

- put glue on the back of your heating element

- slide element up into place

- Apply pressure for the glue.

- you dont HAVE to attach it back with the hog rings if you use a good enough glue.

Just make sure there are no folds or creases as you'll feel these when you're sitting on it.

Put the seats all back together and now they're heated :)

I hope this guide is enough. :)
