Ensurance

Been contacted by Skoda UK about Ensurance

. Is it worth registering for it?

Free legal expenses cover to cover against uninsured losses is free under Ensurance, which is usually worth a bit. Otherwise, it just ensures that your vehicle is repaired at an approved Skoda center (if your Comprehensive cover doesn't cover this, Ensurance covers the difference in cost). Another benefit is that during the repair (subject to availability), they will also get the repairer to provide a courtesy car. Various terms and conditions are of course applicable, not limited to the fact that I've gleaned this info from my Ensurance document, which is from late 2013.

Which is easy to do yourself as you're legally entitled to have your car repaired where you want.  Also I've used a skoda approved repair, the same one twice in fact, the first time they did an amazing job, the second time it was shockingly bad.  So 'Skoda Approved' doesn't really mean much, when I rang SUK to complain about said repairer they said they don't have any power over them as they're a privately run business.....

It's free to register. I did & of course when you read the literature you can decide if you want to use it. If you are unfortunate enough to need such a service & in the circumstances then at least you will have the facility.

I'm using them right now after my car was involved in an accident. I've been pretty impressed, have handled everything on my behalf, have hardly had to lift a finger. Have been in touch regularly to keep me abreast of what's happening. Got me a like for like car through the other persons insurance, and are keeping me informed of repairs progress. Would highly recommend signing up with them if you want to be hassle free after an accident.

I contacted them after my accident and was pretty much told 'as its a total loss your better off dealing with your insurance company direct, we only really help people who have had a repairable accident'

So my belief was ring them they will do it for me as the blurb eludes too, my experience of them was not so positive.
