Smeared windows and new wiper blades

Featured Replies

Just ordered some new wiper blades as my screen is a mess in the rain. I reckon there is some kind of oily film on the glass so before I fit them is there a recommended way to clean the glass so I don't ruin these blades pls? The ones I will be taking off are hardly old and I reckon I ruined these ones practically as soon as I fitted them!!

Thanks in advance

Adam

A lot of people recommend the above. At less than £5 a bottle it's worth a try.

Or, if you are heading over Bromyard way, I have some Gtecniq glass cleaner and glass polish (which did a very good job of preparing my glass for sealant) you are welcome to try.

Thanks guys, I have honestly never heard of that stuff, but will grab some and give it a try.  KB, many thanks for the offer, probably not up that way for a bit but very kind.

No problem. The Bar Keepers stuff seems to be highly regarded by those who have used it (I haven't had that opportunity yet).

Thanks Mike. I tried that approach but I think there is something more stubborn on the screen sadly. I too use the Bosch blades and they are pretty reasonable anyway on eBay, even if you dodge the fake ones.

I tried that too. Its something off the road to be fair, not the bodyshop - its been around for a while...
