Engine trouble

Featured Replies

Evening all, my engine is bust, it just doesn't like being on when the coolant temp is 50c the revving when still can be laggy and not 100% smooth and after being on the move for a short while when stopped it will start to judder occasionally like its on the verge of stalling (even with clutch up) the car is coming up to 13500 miles and 3 years old, what's peoples views on this? Is it a lack of fuel in the engine? This has happened about 3 times and all is fine when the coolant has heated up

A sensor may be at fault. Needs a check at the dealer.

How soon after starting is it until you are at 50*oC Coolant and then how many miles until high 80's , low 90's?

Are you running it on some supermarket petrol,

and if so could you try someplace else. ?

Maybe better see about getting it on the Diognistics.

Straight away and probably about a mile, trouble with going to the garage is I'd have to leave it there overnight so the engine is 100% cool the next day, I've used the same supermarket for months now, although I did last month fill up with super unleaded instead of unleaded, but that's out the system now

Mine hated that V Power fuel. It's worth getting it scanned to see if any codes pop up.

Interesting this.. Since its gotten colder I've noticed mine can be very hesitant when cold, along with the occasional misfire under load and at low rpm..

Can't say mines doing this. Do you do mostly town work? When was the last time it has a good run.

You could look and see if anyone nearby could run a scan for you.

Chances are a sensor is having a grumble.

I guess I haven't done a 70mph since last month, the next time I can get someone to scan would be the 15th of next month

Mine is the same and has been for some time, usually feels like it's going to stall when I stop at traffic lights and turn off start stop to help the engine warm up. Mine has recently started to "tick"... I can only describe it like the sound of very noisy tappit's! But so far it's been ok.... It doesn't help that every time I change gear I get a gearbox clunk so it sounds so noisy round town

Let's hope not, I don't know how shoving pills into the engine will work
