One advantage of growing old....

Featured Replies

Admittedly there aren't many especially if like me you've never really grown up beyond the age of 13, but a mere £25 on my insurance premium in exchange for a hike in power to "circa" 350bhp seems extremely reasonable!

Now where's that Saga holidays brochure....

Yeah but ear hair, WTF is that all about?

Ear hair, nose hair, hair everywhere but on your head. It's not great is it.

Not sure cheap insurance makes up for it :x

I find Saga insurance too expensive, it shouldn't be really.  Bet they wouldn't insure you with that hike in power. :p

I've still got hair coming from every orifice but it's turned grey now.  :notme:  Still a full head of hair, more than my son actually.

I once had a car insurance quote declined because, their words "your premium comes at a low price, we can't make a profit out of providing you with insurance"  :x

Nowhere near, but before I started growing hair in such unsightly places, I could not afford to buy, let alone insure a car with this much power. I remember not so long ago the TV ads for the Escort RS2000 in a mock surgery with supposed doctors in white coats zapping its engine to 150bhp, which was, back then in the early 90s, the benchmark figure for hot hatches; it's already double that, and probably raised another 100 before the end of next year.

My theory is you don't loose any hair, it just slips off your head and grows in different places, like yer ears and nose.

As you say insurance is cheap when you're 60+,  I had an itch for Monaro V8 last year, premium would have been £190 for a 5000mile policy thank you very much sir. :)

Seems to at about 32-35 as you say head hair slips to other placed and the insurance goes down.

I could probably insure just about any car now but now I've got family I can't afford to buy anything exciting

Scalextric it is then.

You can afford the insurance for nice flashy cars but what young hot piece of a55 wants to be seen with a hairy eared man  :nerd:

Gold diggers mostly.

I don't know about that mate, my wife is a lot younger than me and very attractive.   Her favourite past time is plucking the odd  hair off me
