New job, new car if I choose...

Love the new 3 series estates! That 330D engine seems immense from what I've seen on the net. Lovely sound too. I did look on the bmw website and apparently the 330D starts at 37k for basic model ouch...Haha

Haa really? I didnt realise it was that much! Haha.

Does it have to be brand new?

Worth factoring in its pretty standard to get £8-9k off list. 335d has even bigger discounts sometimes in excess of 10k off...

Lease deals online are also pretty decent on the 330d.

The problem the OP has is that the outstanding finance will exceed the value of the car to sell, especially with 4 years left on the finance.

Whatever happens, if  midlifecrisisT were to sell the car now  the OP would have to put additional money in just to sell and overcome the negative equity. How much that is will partly decide what happens going forward, because you could need to add 2K plus or more in addition to the car and end up with nothing. Couple of hundred quid would most likely be ok, but I suspect its going to be a four figure sum.

Hey guys. Spoken with finance company and Mannyo is right. I'd still owe £1,500, that's if I managed to get 8.5k sale privately obviously if I only got 8k then I'd owe nearly 2k! So it looks like I'll be keeping my beauty for the foreseeable future. Which is great cause I love the thing. Think I may have to look at getting some extended warranty though... :-)

Is there a mileage limit on the finance?

Can you use it for business?

If you could, you could claim something back off the company for using your own car?

Finance is HP mate luckily so no mileage restrictions! I would just have to add business insurance to my personal policy.

I've spoken to my insurers and it looks like my policy will be going up around £150/£200 a year! Which proper sucks but oh well haha. Not sure if my employer will contribute to some of that extra cost.

Could be much worse!

Yea could be mate. My policy was 240 last year for personal which is a bargain really. Looking at around 400 with business insurance.

rip off city and time to shop around.  Many insurers charge very little to add business cover.

when I added business cover the premium when up...........£1

Ive always seen a big increase because of business, when I've quoted.

Mum paid an extra £300 for it on her car the other year.

Edit: proper business cover that is, not going to a single place of work

I stuck business cover on my Fabia, cost nothing extra for about 5000 miles iirc. Shop about!

Adds virtually nothing to include business cover on mine :-)

If you're already tied into a policy though, you can only shop around if you're willing to lose your NCB for that year

Hmm sounds like my insurers might be trying to rip me off then. It comes to and end mid Jan anyway so will have a proper look around when I get my renewal.

I won't need the business insurance until end of Jan which has saved me a £20 admin fee by not having to change mid policy!

Proper business cover is what I am talking about, not commuting.

As said, added a whole £1 to my premium.

Mine is insured for business use, cost me nothing

Maybe we're just unfortunate haha.
