CH/LH-light problems

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have a problem with my coming home/leaving home -lights, they stopped working a couple of weeks ago.

- VCDS shows no problems

- light sensor is working (atleast the the headlights turns on and off as they should do)

- Light switch is in "auto" position

- boxes for ch/lh is ticked in both VCDS and in the car.

Anyone had the same problems? Or any ideas what it might be?

The car is a Superb 2010.

Possibly a failing battery? Sometimes the car protects a weaker battery by keeping certain lights off if the engine is not running....

Forgot to mention: it is only the headlamps not turning on (they work when I start the car). The puddlers are still working.

A failing battery might be an answer, but I charged it last night to check, and I thought the system was only checking the voltage from the battery (which was good after charging). Correct me if I am wrong!

Err... me... last Friday, have you turned the switch to "OFF" then through the positions then back to Auto? seemed to have worked for me

I think its cleverer than that but I don't really know. Of course it may not be holding the charge you gave it very well.

Is it the original as four winters is not outside of expectations?

Tried it now, and it did not help. Thanks for the tip anyway!

adamal:

It is the original battery, so it is time for a new one.

Checked now, and the "eye" on top of the battery is red.

I was hoping for a cheaper solution...

I'll change the battery within a month, and tell you if it solved the problem.

Sounds like it. These days a new battery is a cheaper solution in comparison to many repairs!

Update:

I put in a new battery, and then I had a trip to Paris from Norway, and back again (3000 km ~ 1850 miles)

The problem is the same. Still no light from the xenons when the CH/LH function is used.

Very strange, must be some sort of electrical glitch.

Have you noticed any other anomolies recently?

I too would have suggested the battery as a failing battery is often the cause of so many electrically related issues.

Are you 100% sure the CH/LH function is enabled in Maxidot?

I know I am new here, and a new owner of Skoda in general.

But I sometimes see that when I unlock my car my LH lights are not turning on.

So when i press the unlock button again (without locking it) it turns on, have you tried that?

Same here, the LH lights normally only work after second attempt to unlock

I have not noticed anything else. Everything else seem to be working fine. And the puddlers and lisence plate light are working with the CH/LH function. Just not the xenons.

The battery is brand new, tested by the dealer before I bought it and well charged.

The function is enabled (checked again 30 min ago ;))

Have tried unlocking it twice. The puddlers are on, but not the xenons :/

Thanks to all for all the advice! And please tell if you can think of anything else :)
