vrs sluggish after replacement turbo.

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My standard turbo went pop a few weeks back and I replaced it with a new Garret pd150 turbo from darkside and since then I've got a EML on (I have blanking plates on the egr valve) was told this would meant it wouldn't trigger a EML. Also the car feels sluggish with no real go in it.

I did some tests and 20-40 in second was 2.8 second, before it was 2.4 and 30-70 in 3rd was well into 8 seconds, before that was low to mid 7s. Anyone have ideas to what it would be?

I do also have a low oil pressure light on but that's because I broke the sensor. Pressure is fine as I've checked it. Could this be throwing the car off at all?

Cheers guys.

Stephen.

Do you have VCDS lite?

If so scan the engine ecu for faults to find out why the EML is on.

Also group 11 log using 3rd gear from 1500rpm to 4500rpm. This will show you actual boost compared to requested.

No I don't have any form of scanning equipment.I did a post in the general section asking if anyone near Croydon could help me out.

Do you know where I can get a copy of it from?

Stephen

You can download VCDS lite demo from Ross tech. You will then need to buy an VCDS lite interface. These can be bought of eBay for less than £10.

This will allow you to log and scan the engine ecu for the fault code.

Yes that's the one.

So you've gone from a standard pd130 to a pd150 turbo?

Bigger turbo will feel slightly more sluggish, but should pull better at WOT and higher revs?

Once you've sorted the EML you ideally need a re-map, John will sort that for you :)
