Engine swap (2.0i instead of a 1.4 mpi)

Featured Replies

The ABT kit is a genuine 140BHP on a remap, Schrich cams, NGK Iridum spark plugs, magnacor HT leads, standard air box (interal mod) & standard exhaust. I spoke to ABT UK when it was QST & verified this.

I have not had mine on a dyno but other people who have drive it & have verified "It is defo faster than 100BHP!..Basically the AUB/BBZ 100BHP is a real screamer of an engine when tuned properly. VW got 220 BHP out of the 1.6 version!!!

I recon if I fiited the same cams & a proper stage 2 reamp on mine I would have over 150BHP

Don't bother with 2lt 8v..waste of time unless you want to over bore it, fit the 16v head & G-ladder super charger it!

Persoanlly I quite like the old school 2.0 8v engines, I'll admit that they are old technology, but they have a raw simple flavour to them which I think it good, you know exactly where you are with tried and trusted machinery like that, it does what it does, nothing more, nothing less, the fabia is too heavy a car for it to be worthwhile though, however there is lots of legacy parts avaialbe from much older models like from the mk3 golf for instant access to cheap reliable tuning which is worth looking at, overboring the, is a complete wate of money though, there have been various turbo kits and even supercharger kits out there for them over the years but mostly they are designed for the golf version of the engine which is slightly different..
