Diagnostics for Windows phones?

Featured Replies

I've seen there are a few diagnostics/car info apps for the windows smartphones that link up with ELM OBD2 via Bluetooth. However when you look at the connector its not always clear that it will link up. There isn't much money to lose if I shell out and it doesn't work (few quid for an app and a fiver-ish for an ELM) but I was just wondering if anyone here had managed to hook one up to a windows phone? I'm on a Nokia Lumia, seems its much easier for Android with the Torque app...I do miss my Galaxy sometimes...

Watching with interest.

Will keep you updated, one ebay seller said no, one said don't know so its one of those, may have found one to try so watch this space...

Might be easier to get something on a Windows 8.1 tablet.

WinPho is a bit of a poor relation in the app market.

I'm finding that, might try my luck with an early upgrade. I like their useability and cameras but the app thing and a few others are starting to annoy me. I only got the 520 thinking it would do plenty for what I need a phone for (which ain't much) and I've been disappointed. SWMBO has a higher end one which is ok in general, but still lacking apps wise.

I like my 920 but I'm not much of an app junky.

Car Dash app (http://www.windowsphone.com/en-gb/store/app/cardash/1748b8c2-ecb2-4f4c-8abb-a66d8150cc0b) + http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-CAN-BUS-Diagnostic-Windows-Android/dp/B00GAUYU6Y/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1419695825&sr=8-8&keywords=obd+bluetooth+adapter

Works fine on my current 930 and on my previous 920

Car dash app shows sensor data (such as boost, rpm etc.), has fault code reading and 0-60 timer.

I've been using that app and these type of adaptors for a few years. Only issues i've had are with the adaptors and their varying quality.

Cheers for that, I now don't need to feel so bad about potentially not writing a solution in this post owing to the fact I've just ordered an S4. Phoned Orange earlier and they got on my nerves over a signal booster for the house. Was pretty much the last straw. Got 4 months left on contract and they wanted £70 for early upgrade so got a new tarif to run as that one dies, cheapest way in the long run. I know the S5 is out but the S4 is still pretty good.
