That's what happened fri (mk2 new shape octy tdi) Wilson323 coded it and all was well, well it put the warning light out anyway but the pass bulb was dimmer than the other. Next day I swapped ballasts, still the same so thought a duff bulb, I had 43k h7's so put them in, pass sides still dimmer, odd!

I swapped bulbs, and still dimmer on pass side plus the bloody warning light came back on!!

Would that be because the other bulbs are maybe for a 55w older ballast or shouldn't it matter, I'm putting the 5k's back in, I've also emailed londoncolour to ask if I've to send the (maybe) duffer back....or has anyone had this carry on before

Meant to say, I'll check the power to it it's either maybe that or duff reflector, it's all I can think of if its not the above....I wonder if it's time to use the astra again and forget this

Did Wilson323 code them correctly,maybe get him to put up on here exactly what he did & mikeholroyd could confirm if thats correct? 

Hey i unticked cold diagnostic for dipped beam and also went to byte 4 but the car didnt have bit 4 for xenons without shutter so i added a 10 to byte 4 instead of ticking the box that wasnt there.

Thanks for explaining that, I couldn't remember what you did.....I'll put the 5k bulbs that came in the kit back in tomorrow (been pouring and blowing a gale all day here) and take it from that

If you fit the complete 4300k kit from londoncolour & Wilson323f has coded it correctly then it should all work fine,phil coded mine & we fitted the kit,it took all of 10 mins start to finish. 

It was the 5k kit I got, I forgot to say at the start, I had 4.3k's lying about so put them in but couldn't see the wattage on them, they might be different from the 5k. I wouldn't have thought it'd have made any difference because folk change bulbs, so it must be something else.

I'll put the 5k ones back in today (the ones than came in the kit), if the light doesn't go out, I don't know what's wrong....all I know is that its a pita and I'm fed up with it
