Rear washer pipe

Featured Replies

Where does it run from the washer bottle?

mines not working but i've checked the pipe in the tail gate, checked behind where the cd changer was, the pump works and everything else is working as it should

Did you remove the nozzle as suggested here?

If with the cap and nozzle removed water squirts out from the rear wiper arm you should know that all is good.

If it doesn't, the pump is working (the front and rear washers are fed from the same pump so if the front ones are working this should suggest the pump is good) and there is water in the bottle then the water must be going somewhere.

Is it pooling under the car? As you said if the boot isn't filling with water and the headlining is dry then there must be a blockage.

If you remove the drivers side front wheel and peel back the wheelarch liner you can very easily access the washer bottle and trace the tube up into the scuttle tray along the top of the bulk head.

i'll try removing the wheel then.

Ive had the nossle soaking for a while and washed it out along with the bit the nossle clips onto. Nothing comes out without the nossle there. I cant see anything pooling under the car either but there are no obvious marks of water inside the car.

Hmm, that does seem strange.

I'd take a look at the pump, are the front washers working OK? I take it you can hear the pump when you turn on the rear wash?

The only other scenario like you say is a blockage..?

The washer pipe runs inside the central wiring harness (dumb idea) often splits behind the dashboard press and hold and see if you find dripping from behind the dashboard.

Both headlight washers and windscreen washers work fine.

When I find the time I'll get hunting
