DSG Remap and by which company?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Has anyone had a DSG remap done and which company did you use?

Once done what has changed? Is the gear changes still smooth, any lagging issues or strange behavior at all and did it work straight out of the box as such or is tweaking possible?

Also does it keep you in a better gear rather than 6th gear at low speed?

Thanks :)

Shark did mine.

No lagging and no trying to jump up the gears at low speeds. Super smooth, holds gear better and manual mode really stays manual so you can press on.

Did you have an engine remap done at the same time or was it in stages?

Here are some useful links to give you an idea of what's important. I'm considering the same thing (as I'm going to get my engine remapped). It seems to me that you can't do one without the other...

Make what you will of that lot. Although it's not as clearly put on their website, the drivermotorsport article in the golfmk6 forums is interesting re clamping force increase to handle increased torque. I've been told (though no convinced by any means) that the DQ250 box in the R/S3 and 280 is uprated, and "can handle anything you chuck at it mate". Personally, if the torque exceeds 400Nm I'd want the box remapping to increase the clamping pressure as well as raising the electronic limiter (obviously). The temperature logs will tell you if there is too much slip when remapping the engine and simply raising the electronic limiter.

Did they alter the clamp pressure? What is the max torque that your engine is developing?

This is what I'm trying to find out I posted the same thread two hours before you
