repairs are looming

Featured Replies

Well the car will be in for its repairs as from next week so that me without the brand new car for 2 weeks. Strange this new car hassle free ownership, it's been the total opposite.

Appears now VWFS have taken the issue on following complaints which will hopefully bring the correct resolution to all of this.

Maybe following this the car will only ever need a visit to the dealer for servicing and to finally hand it back after the PCP expires.

Why oh why did I ever deviate from the great blue oval badged cars..:-( haha

Why are you not getting a courtesy car?

I will be. Hopefully a like for like one.

So what's the problem?

It was sold as brand new with multiple faults

It was sold as brand new with multiple faults

Not a very good advert that............can't believe you bought it really.

:p

Haha neither can I. It won't happen again. The faults were not 'advertised' though, they were free :-)

It is a bad advert I agree and the dealer is fully aware how this 'new' car promotes his business and the brand.

Is it me or does this thread not make sense ? What are your repairs that are looming ?

6 body panels to respray.

Woeful mpg to investigate.

Windscreen creak to investigate.

The list goes on further.

The car has accumulated only 2000 miles since delivery.

Hope this clarifies.

Do you mean you think it'll have loads of faults too? I'd ask for one without any if I was you. Seriously it makes me wonder if skoda are overstretching themselves when I read things like this. Hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction.

Cheers i hope so too.

As long as the courtesy car is not a citigo or fabia and something which can transport the family in comfort is all i need.

If it has issues that once the dealer has been given reasonable time to resolve demand a new car or your money back

Cheers for advice.

I did attempt to reject the car early on after delivery but it was SUK that rejected my case.

I still am trying to go down this path but the dealer has the chance to repair it all and offer some generous compensation package.

You don't have to talk to skoda if the car is on pcp, the contract is with the finance company. Reject the car to them, then you will see a change of heart from skoda.

Thanks for the advice. Yes I think SUK were effectively trying to wash their hands of it so i did complain via VWFS.

Vwfs seem to take complaints more seriously than SUK.

after all, they're overseen by the ombudsman.

I literally just had a call from them suggesting we will get nowhere with the dealer and it's time to change.

Point noted.

Bye bye rubbish octavia tomorrow and hello courtesy car (again). See you again in 10 days

When rejecting a car on pcp due to a catalogue of problems who is it best to write the letter of rejection to?

Finance I'm guessing, it's legally their car.

Car is 5 months old now. Problems noticed a week after delivery.

  • Author

Cheers. They have pushed me into a corner to allow a repair and i have seen the pictures of the bonnet removed and whole of front bumper and rear bumper, lights and tailgate all removed. But, I never once suggested I woukd accept any of the repairs.

Also the windscreen is rattling, mpg is dire, trim falling off or poor fit.

They shouldn't of started any work without your signature.

Did you sign any work authorisations?

  • Author

Yes I did for the paint work

  • Author

If i was registered owner and i was handing it over to a business i would expect some signing to confirm this
